I just wiki'd election results from 2015's landslide Lib win.

2015 Trudeau 6.9m Harper 5.6m

2019 Trudeau 6.0m Scheer 6.2m

2021 Trudeau 5.5m EOT 5.7m

So... Huh?

We have more than two parties, you realize that right?  65-75% of the country votes on the left.

True, true, but then again there are those people who would consider the Liberals to also be a right leaning vote.

That's how they're often in power.  Bend to whatever the political winds go.  Last right leaning (fiscally) leader of the Lieberals was Paul Martin.  And he got wasted in the Federal elections.

And as cited the majority of the country wants restrictions removed.  That amount of people is increasing by the day.

I don't think the public can be convinced to maintain them for much longer, do you?  I mean maybe a few weeks, tops?

no they didnt say that. what we said was remove themwhen its safe to do sdo

and we need to start the concersation about asking people to die for the freedom to shop mask free.

they have rights too and shouldnt have to become prisoners at home so 11 pwercent can get thier way

if we are asking some people to pay the ulimate sacrifice for dine in mask free privileges for a few , then what will those 11 percent sacrfice.

i would like to see them only get medical care if a bed is open and using it wont block an innocent person waiting for surgery

From your post, evidently nobody at all dies from Omicron, and it is the very last variant of Covid; the virus has stopped mutating. Could you please show us where you found this information? I would think that people will be dancing in the streets if you are correct.

But freedom from consequences isn't freedom for alot of people.. Its trynny asking for them to risk serious illness and death solely for the freedom if mask free.shopping

Can we get the actual detail lists from the protesters of whom will be disposable and who gets any rights ?  Not sure anymore with minority mob  rule running the show

That's not it.

The reasoning is now we're all getting it regardless. Regardless of vax status, restrictions and other policy.  So what can the Canadian public do aside from boosting the at risk and hoping for the best?

The answer, of course, is nothing. So that's why we are seeing a policy shift.

That and people need to live, not just survive.

Besides the shopping argument is pretty laughable considering omicron was known well before xmas shopping season but omicron concern wasn't a thing to us until after thast.

You’re stating the drunk driver argument.  You really think Other drivers should get off the streets if they don’t want to encounter a drunk driver?

Science is what has been, and will continue to guide our health authorities’ restrictive measures (health orders).  The cowards in Ottawa are fools (as are those who support them) to connect restrictive measures being reduced and their protesting.

The objective is to keep the numbers of infected down to a manageable daily level.

Yes, it seems everyone will get Omi.

The task is to make sure we all don't get Omi in the same month; or almost none of us will be able to see a doctor.

I agree. However that phase is almost done by now.

I do wonder how many weeks redundant restrictions can be justified?

A few?

Did you know the group at highest risk for severe illness from Covid is the unvaccinated?  It’s been posted here several times.  A boosted 80 year old is at less risk than an unvaccinated 20 year old.  You talk about removing all restrictions and boosting the high risk people.  The problem with your logic is the highest risk group are the antivaxxers.  What do we do with these people, who are the highest risk group?  Do we end all restrictions and they fill up hospitals and we can’t care for them all?  The restrictions now are for these people the most.  Rather ironic, isn’t it?  That those of us who are vaccinated are putting up with restrictions to best protect the same idiots who refuse vaccination, attack our healthcare workers, fly Nazi flags, desecrate our cenotaphs, protest at our schools, and the list goes on because they don’t want to get vaccinated.  We are protecting them.  And they are too selfish and ignorant to understand it.

To be less cryptic, your analogy did not work.

Willful ignorance isn’t a quality of strong character.  That’s exactly how the protestors in Ottawa are behaving.  They are willfully ignoring the reality the restrictions are protecting the highest risk group for serious illness from Covid.  Them.

They know this, Alf.... they're just trolling for $&!#s and giggles now. There comes a point where all the facts have been shared, the science shared and these folks will still stand there stamping their feet in tantrum with their fingers in their ears screaming "La la la la, I caaaaaan't heeeear yoooou"

We are now in our 3rd year of attempting to educate and share the facts and they are STILL wilfully ignoring the truths and facts. My inclination now with them is to tell them to &^@# off out of my space because apparently throat punching is seen as assault. Never mind that OUR health status gets assaulted every time these assholes start spraying and spewing yet more lies and misinformation.
