I think it’s a perfect embodiment of EA’s copy/paste strategy when it comes to their games. 2 1 2 2

Fanuck
Ahhh yes, EA.sports, seemingly the root motivator and justification for more than half the threads in the armchair GM forum. I see they've still got no shame in pandering to the masses in search of sales.

-AJ-
They'd never do it, but if EA actually took a year off making an NHL game to make a polished game for once, I'd 100% buy it. It frustrates me how they add features, but never fix their old broken ones. The number of silly simple glitches and bugs I find in these games is ridiculous. I wish they gave the programmers more time to work that stuff out. 1

Dumb Nuck
I love EA, Matthews should be of every future edition of NHL as well, long live the EA NHL Cover Curse.
Makaramel MacKhiato
Looks the same. Probably the first year I won't buy it. The only reason I would is for Seattle. The Matthews on the cover factor makes me want to buy it even less.

Unfortunately, their main focus is Madden and FIFA, as those sports/games have larger audiences and bring in the $, therefore those divisions get a bigger budget, and more resources to work with. NHL is always a couple years behind those two in development. They're only now switching NHL from the 'Ignite' engine to the 'Frostbite' engine, which FIFA got in 2017, Madden in 2018. I think a permanent release date every 2 years (aside from expansion years), and just have bi-weekly roster updates in the interim would be the best thing for this game. 2

Would be the best for users, but EA might not like the lack of new revenue every year. I would be 1000% on board for that model though, especially if there was no additional cost to me.

Wow, I never realized how big of a pick Madden was for the Canucks as a 68th overall pick in 2018
