Popular Post -DLC-
Our beloved Gino.....still going strong and it was just a few short years ago that was all in question. So glad he fought his most important battle to be here to receive this honour. A well deserved one at that...he has served this Province and our community well. GI-NO GI-NO! https://www.surreynowleader.com/sports/surrey-site-for-bc-sports-hall-of-fame-2021-class-induction-thursday/ (Gene Kiniski too...haven't heard that name in awhile) 6 1 1 1

Very happy for him! My friend and I went to Guardians on Ice at ? (The Ridge?). Super small crowd, great venue. Gino was there and as we entered, we saw him standing him off to the side with a couple of male fans he was signing autographs for. He saw us standing there waiting to say hi to him and he said "OK guys, I've got ladies here waiting for me...sorry" and he hurried them along. We had a lovely chat with him. Dors and Guddy were also there...it was super cool. They answered questions after the film ended. Was super casual and relaxed...like a bunch of people just hanging out. 3

McBackup
Congrats to Gino. Not trying to be a downer, but is he still in good health? Last I heard he had a near miraculous recovery from his heart condition, but that it reappeared recently.
Heretic
I also heard that Gene Kiniski made it too! A lot of memories of going to Kiniski's Reef in Point Roberts - is it still there? https://www.citynews1130.com/2021/10/07/bc-sports-wrestler-gene-kiniski/

6of1_halfdozenofother
https://globalnews.ca/news/8877460/gino-odjick-bc-sports-hall-of-fame/ Per article above, June 9th is the date they officially honour the 2020 and 2021 inductees. By the way, I'm surprised there's not an "Alumni" thread specifically for Gino.
Kragar
Sigh... if only Anderson tripped over a stick while taunting Gino. Never liked that puke.

I always liked Anderson but that would have been funny. It would have been like a bear mauling video.
RUPERTKBD
I've played on teams with guys like Gino....doesn't matter who is on the other side....they'll go with anyone and always step up for the stars.... There are no more popular guys in the dressing room. Not even the team stars.... Well deserved. Congrats Gino.....
