My dad lied about his age in order to be involved in the D- day landings.

He didn't even make it up the beach.

Got shot multiple times.

The doctors told him if he moved to a warmer climate he might get into his forties, he made it to 87.

He taught me about strength of will and what you can achieve.

I hope all is well with you and I will tell you what I teach my son, never give up.

In Koori society, the oldest continuous society on this planet we would refer to you as Uncle Joe.

We need the wisdom of our elder's.

i think of my wisdom as something i left in my other suit of clothes. i think i gave them to the sally ann. now just happy if i don't get aldlzimers and dementia. but i'll plug on till then.

With 3 days to go there has not been much movement on the leaderboard. @Elias Pettersson has maintained a "stranglehold" of the lead.

All in all I am very glad the numbers are low this year. Please check the status of your selections and let me know if i have missed anyone.

(RIP) Vivienne Westwood. Who has passed away today at 81. A very interesting character who designed the stylings for the Sex Pistols in the 70's and went on to build a luxury fashion brand.

Although no change to leaderboard I have amended a scoring issue for @4petesake. If I have missed anyone else please let me know ASAP.

I mean no offense to Vivienne however she, in her own words copied punk fashion from punks that were already wearing that " style" of clothing and her partner at the time, Malcolm McLaren was a manipulating person who cared nothing for our music.

Vivienne did care about the political issues that motivated a lot of punk music, she has my respect big time for that.

She once stated

" Who needs leaders who are a total rip off, who create war and torture "

I was a straight little Catholic kid in 1975 when I went to England and I will never forget seeing the punk's in the streets and subways of London.

The coloured hair, Mohawks, the ripped clothes and leather.

I was old enough to know that there was a big element of social justice behind punk.

A few years later I bought Never Mind The Bollocks Here's The Sex Pistols, I used to have posters of Sid and Nancy, John Lydon/Rotten all over the walls in my bedroom, and I have been been a punk to this day.

Apart from reading punk/ music has been the longest continuous interest in my life.
