I won't go into each one as I don't have the actual facts but I simply draw the line at fraud and crimes against women that were factually proven.

 

Not saying I am right simply saying that's my line.

I'd do the same...I would sign Kane for simply laying out Matt Cooke, the biggest rat in the past 15 years; I wouldn't sign Virtanen because not only he a phat puke and a despicable human being, he's horrible at hockey.  I hate Marchand with every fibre of my being, but he would have a spot my roster any day of the week.

The true hockey “culture” of the game is dying in Vancouver.

We used to be a Blue Collar,  “Charlestown Cheif” type club.

..Now we’re on the verge of Dyson Vacums,.  Good looking we’ll engineered Suck.

 The type of cookie cutter perfection that has grown men Hunting for a Gluten Free Taco in a fresh set of Depends .

 

 

it takes all types of characters to build a great hockey team..  it always has, and it always will.

 

A fan in Calgary acutely dropped a 5 dollar bill over the glass behind E Kane last night,  yelling at him , “ I hope this helps you out”.. or something to that effect.

Kane has been getting professional help to sort out his admittted gambling addiction, and has been quite open and honest about it .  

He’s lost a lot through it all, everybody does in these and other addiction problems.

 Whether it’s alcohol, drugs, pain killers, gambling ,. You are your own worst enemy ..    

so why is it fans of the sport want to see the worst possible outcomes for athletes who have, or do struggle with these personal issues?

They are trying their best to right all the wrong they have caused, or even get caught up in a tangle of lies because of it?

Most are no different than you or I or the next dude or dudette.

The only difference is more money, bigger holes, larger fires, more problems.

 

I’m happy for Evander Kane,  had this journey he’d taken been flawless,   I’m pretty sure he’d be a HOF nominee sometime in the future.… but a bigger better man is now starting to rise, and the next 4-5 years may be his best.

After a police investigation, a grand jury declined to indict. But the Capitals were critical of the four players’ behaviour, which occurred after a team party.

Canucks don't do bold things. They are followers and scared to offend a single person. How many of you didn't want to take the hometown kid in during his hardest time of his life/career? So many of you praised Rutherford for skipping out on him after SJS incident... Sad

 

We could of had a discount and he could of been the push we needed to get over the hump and make the playoffs this year since we came so close without him plus getting rid of Motte/Hamonic at deadline etc.

 

Kane would of taken hometown discount / show me 1 year contract. Either or. We could of done either. 

 

Canucks don't want to win, they just want to keep up appearances. Add it to the long list of reasons this franchise hasn't had a cup in 50 years.

Yup.  Kane is a UFA this summer.  Playing with McDrai inflated his numbers.  Kane isn't stupid.  This time with the Soilers made his creditors a lot of money.

I think the issue is they did not want a player influencing their young players in a negative way by what he does off the ice, and by bringing him in, you are saying we accept that lifestyle, The players represent your city and team while wearing your jersey and should be more like businessmen than gangsters and why they have to dress that way on game days.

I don't blame the Canucks for not wanting a distraction on the team for a player who had assault claims (physical,sexual),Gambling debts, Bankruptcy, fake Covid vaccination card, players on different teams hated him, plus he just wouldn't show up for practices and as good as a player on the ice, the Canucks did not want or need the drama and off ice distractions on their team of they want  to build a team of accountability and character

He is the type of on- ice player we'd like, just not the type of person that other teams have had issue with though, he is fighting to keep his lifestyle at the moment, but he most likely is what his character has shown and too much of a locker room distraction for which the "cost of getting him" could bankrupt your locker room

Doing stupid things isn't being stupid.  Kane is an idiot and a lot of other negative adjectives.  Stupid ain't one of them though.  

He chose to play with the Oilers for completely selfish reasons.  To get the biggest UFA contract possible this summer.  Kane does most everything for selfish reasons.  He's selfish person.  But he isn't stupid.

Oh yeah, he's definitely selfish. But I don't see how an intelligent person can break covid protocols and cost themselves nearly 6 million dollars a year. Stupid is as stupid does, and this guy is continuously making dumb choices in his life. Signing with the Oilers (who even knows how many options he had besides the Oilers) doesn't make this guy more intelligent. It was a no brainer and realistically his best option.

I think we can all like how these guys can play on the ice and dislike how they act off the ice.

 

Personally, these guys (like it or not) are potential role models for some young fans.  By condoning inappropriate behaviour, what message is it sending to young kids?  I would like the Canucks to win but not turn a blind eye (looking at you CHI) on things that matter.  
 

There has to be a line drawn in the sand that you cannot cross (morally) otherwise it becomes a slippery slope. 
 

As for Kane, admittedly I would have liked him on the Canucks roster back then.  But then again, I don’t  have all the facts on his shenanigans.  And what I think is irrelevant as it’s the GM (JR/PA) that is now running the show.

 

I’ll just cheer on for the Canucks as I have always done.
