Too many small + skilled players in top 6 with both of them. That has not been a winning combination in the playoffs.

They have a good young group of players for sure. But calling them 'a winner' is a little premature.

I said they're building a winner.  They're still very young

Habs with the horrid spot at 5. It’s a replay from when we too Juiolevi. Reinbacher will not be very good. Willander will be better. Simashev with be better.

willander will NEVER play on a PP, whereas Reinbacher will piut up 40-50 points a season in his prime over many seasons. Why do I even waste my time to reply to your posts?

Curious question - for those who don't like the Willander pick, would you feel differently if Willander was a BC boy?

Sometimes I feel fans can get swayed into wanting the local BC kid and ignore whether this player is really effective and the need of the team.

I wanted Wood, but I'm completely fine with Willander.

Neither have made the NHL maybe dial it back a bit on both.

To say that Willander will never play on a powerplay despite his skating and hockey IQ is just silly.

Alf is a Leaf fan first, and Canuck fan second. He doesn't like how Montreal won more cups in the Original Six era.

He probably thinks Cutty Sark is top end Scotch.

Which is not an easy thing to do...like at all. Especially undersized and slower.

Depends on the player and their tendencies. He literally plays like a center already. First man back, has a stick like Petey defensively, probably the best motor for defense in the draft, can literally defend like a defensive defenseman against rushes.

The only thing that's limiting him would be net front battles. His anticipation is elite (Petey levels of anticipation) and he will be ahead of the play before his skating even becomes a hindrance.

I'm sure we will have a pp specialist on our roster prior to him joining the club. That's the hope anyway

Except Danielson and that small D man aren't very good picks

Stevie Y has a pretty good draft record thus far. I would trust him and his staff to make some proper bets. Aside from the surefire picks (a la the "Connor's) every GM and scouting team chooses to believe that their selections will pan out to improve their club at some point down the road. A  solid 2 way C with size and an elite offensive D are essential to winning teams now. Check and check. Now time will tell.

I'm not entirely sure Reinbacher's offense is that good either. It's definitely a tier or two above Willander's but Reinbacher doesn't scream 1st line PP QB either. He'd have to be on a weak team to get 2nd line PP minutes in my opinion but I suppose that's subjective. He's definitely more of a defensive two way guy than an offensive one, similar to Willander.
