Well we're gonna have to play for something... Maybe Bedard?

I never condone an intentional tank, but this team needs a re jig and they need to move some players out and might have to take a step back this year to take step forward in the next few years and if there's a year to take steps back, it's this one.

How many times do we have to hear this roster is too talented for where they are at. It happens too often. I think it is safe to say they might have talent but the team is what it is. The wrong mix of players. Fans are going to cling to what happened last year but a team that learned something wouldn't come in and  be even worse than last year. They would have taken the lesson and done something. This team just doesn't have those players and the proof if the start yet again. How many times we going to do this? I could care less about what happened last year. It does nothing for the team this year.

That’s fair to a point but given what we saw in terms of fighting back late last season, you’re kind of obligated to see if they could continue the trend this year.

They still very well might BUT they’ve exhibited the same issues that have confounded this team in seasons past, that are not sufficiently overcome, and that only continue to put this team behind the 8 ball from the get go which inherently exacerbated every other problem that could be sheltered by some modicum of success.

it’s a good group of players that as a collective don’t work well enough together to be considered a “team”

on the bench BB has that look of someone who thinks he's getting canned soon.  He looked like a deer in the headlights last night.

Boudreau is currently the oldest NHL coach at the age of 67 years old. Even if he does get fired, he’ll likely retire after this.

Someone paid for a jersey, with their own money.

they own the jersey, they can do what they want.

Entitlement, is telling those people, they are wrong.

i think it's stupid, but I agree.  If they want to waste their jersey, that's on them.

agreed and I think he sees that writing on the wall.  That was my biggest complaint about his hire in the first place

oh it got pretty anti-Miller this summer

No, it got pretty "anti-retirement contract for a team in no position to sign one" this summer. It's probably more "anti-Miller' right now, the way he/the team are playing.

you say obvious but one of the most experienced people in the game disagreed with you on Miller.

Nobody is infallible.

we're missing a defensive specialist in the top 9. We don't have a shut down C. Maybe if we can trade for that somehow, this season can be salvaged.

We need a lot more than a 3C.

Rutherford: "We will continue to try to add younger players"...

- Doesn't trade Miller when his value was at an all-time high

- Trades a 2nd with Dickinson

Rutherford: "We want to Rebuild on the Fly"...

- I'm so sick of hearing this. How has it been 7 years and this is still the mindset of managament.

That’s FA with his hand up an arse squeezing out talking points.

Think it’s time we stack the lines up so Miller gets taken off Center duties. Maybe putting him on wing will get his confidence up.

Miller-Horvat-Garland

Podkolzin-Pettersson-Kuzmenko

Mikheyev-Lazar-Boeser

Pearson-Aman-Joshua

only 4 NTC/NMC on the team THIS season.

Mikheyev    -12 team no trade list

Pearson     -7 team no trade list for 22/2023

Myers        -10 team no trade

OEL             NMC

3/4 could still be moved, without having the player waive his clause.

maybe in the moment. No one says Miller is the perfect personality, but for me I like seeing passionate players. Sometimes that comes with a bit of negative, but I don't know how anyone could argue on balance Miller is bad for this team.

Did you see the interview with Joe Pavelski last night?.

That's how a winner talks. That guy is an outstanding hockey player and just "gets it".
Conversely, a Miller interview is a cliche blender on high speed to the point where some things he says don't even make sense.

Is medication the answer? The guy needs to CALM DOWN more than anything else. He comes off like a real spazz, and that's almost never good.

So whats the play here. The team is hot garbage. Last year they waited too long to do anything about it by the time they got the ship turned around it was too late to save the season.

They need to send a message early here. We did not make the moves this offseason of a rebuilding team. To tank the season would be completely un acceptable from a mgmt standpoint.

My only hope is we move to a different kind of roster that isn’t as much dependent on skill to win but equally about pride, hard work, tenacity and guts.  One thing a “Canuck” should not be is mentally weak. Embarrassing.

They had the balls to come up with merch that said unfinished business.

If you want to give this organization the benefit of the doubt, I have a bridge to sell you. It's broken but I'm sure you'll buy it if I stick a Canucks sticker in the rubble.

Pavelski is a beauty for sure.

Disagree on the Miller stuff. Everyone's in nitpick overdrive right now.

Can we stop blaming ownership?  He doesn't run the team

Ownership doesn’t run the team but aquaman makes sure he has a say…. There’s no other reason moves are made the way they are from the GM(s). There’s gotta be some influence in works here.
