Looks like "future considerations" goes by the name of Zach Giuttari.  By doing it this way, the Canucks still get that open roster spot on the NHL team.Image

Missed this part!

management is a joke, they did turn down several draft picks for miller from pittsburgh ..../shakes head

Alvin wanted a centre off their roster (to take Miller’s place and fill a hole in our roster) as well as picks. It wouldn’t have to be a 1C but maybe a 3 C or third line centre.

If Allvin believed the picks had the value in trade to move for that desired centre then he makes the deal.  Clearly the picks offered were mid rounders.

 NCAA players coming in?

perhaps making protection and roster room ?

According to capfriendly.com, the Canucks have 44 out of 50 contract spots filled as of now between the parent Nux and Abbotsford.  Not sure if this is before or after Kalynuk trade.
So it looks like the Canucks have 6 contract spots available now for the remaining 2022-2023 season to accommodate either NCAA players or free agents — unless Canucks don’t re-sign UFAs, give qualifying offers to RFAs  or do buy-outs of someone like OEL during the off-season. Michael Ferland should be off the books for the 2023-2024 season too.
