Popular Post Kevin Biestra
Richard Brodeur Kirk McLean Dave Babych Trevor Linden John Garrett Cliff Ronning Doug Lidster Stan Smyl Tiger Williams Gino Odjick Something like that anyway. I guess Harold Snepsts would be next. Tim Hunter is right up there too. Andre Boudrias, Orland Kurtenbach, Gary Smith, Thomas Gradin and Bobby Lalonde as well. The Sedins are in the top 20, maybe the top 15. For guys who only passed through briefly I liked Arturs Irbe, Mel Bridgman and Randy Gregg. TheQuietQuitter
Great lists! Consesus seems about right so far I won't rank mine because it changes all the time, but these 10 players ignited my passion for game from '92 to present day and I feel privileged to have watched them play live and on TV. OldFaithfulCap
Going for more underrated guys myself (not in any order:) 1. Magnus arvedsson - slightly biased as the sens were my second fave team in the 2000s but i love how he played both ways, could shutdown an opponent and score. Very excited when we got him but unfortunately the lockout and injuries ended his career. 2. Jarkko ruutu - Pretty much whatever you needed he could do for the team. Agitate? yes. Hit? yes. Fight? well he'd cause one. Score? Well he drove goalies crazy and every so often would score from somewhere unlikely. 3. Burrows - ignoring the pest part, he just worked and never stopped. Watched him from making the team to being the shutdown guys with kes to being top line with the sedins. Wish he hadn't been in that chicago mess. 4. Ohlund - Solid two way guy who was quiet off the ice but just made smart plays. Great physical player. Underrated shot and worked so well with salo. 5. Auld - the anti-cloutier who played better as the games went on. Not a luongo level talent but played well in the playoffs, 6. Chubarov - took me a while to appreciate him, but another calming guy who executed well and was a faceoff monster. Lockout sent him home which ended his canucks days. 7. Rypien - i remember him giving his all as a skater but clearly he was less polished but as a fighter, he was incredible. Switching hands, positions, he went toe to toe with anyone. 8/9/10 - wce, (bert/mo/naz), sedins cycling was a great wait and see system when they were on but the wce in their prime were end to end excitement. Skill, force and mo balancing them. Second most exciting line besides bure's. All time excitement machines: 1) Bure 2) Peak bertuzzi 3) EP40 (rising)
