JT will be fine and with the cap going up the 8 million per isn't that bad. JT is the way better player for the first five years at least is my guess, plays with edge, plays center, and won't dissappear at playoff time. JT was killer in the Rangers run years ago. It's not just points, it's being tough to play against even if you aren't putting up points.

We'll need that physicality for the playoffs. Bratt cannot match that aspect of playoff strength.

Bratt had more hits in the playoffs than Severson, Graves, Marino, Mercer, and Tatar.

There’s a big difference between Bratt being physical (which he’s not, so I’d seriously question who is tracking those stats. Garbage in = garbage out) and a heavy guy being physical are night and day. The Devils are morons for wasting a huge contract on Bratt. Very similar to the waste the Gabs just made on Mighty Mouse.

Don’t understand the slagging of smaller players. Plenty of them in the league who are proficient in their roles.

What would really be handy actually would be a comparison of each team and incumbent over the past 10 years based on size and seeing if the winning team was actually bigger than the incumbent team.

Otherwise, just basing it on 1 playoffs is rather meaningless.

Yeah and so does the journey in qualifying for the playoffs.
If you’re going to be judgemental and discount that aspect then your opinion is moot because teams do require performers to carry them that far.

Overall I like Bratt. He plays very well with Hughes and reminds me of a lesser Kucherov, in the right spots at the right time, is a step ahead of the D and can barry the chances. Now if we can figure out a way to be effective and impactful in the playoffs, good for him.

Not because z Bratt is small but because he’s a suckaroo. He plays small and out on the perimeter. He’s a friggin’ plsyer on another team! Why in the heck should we Canuck fans like him? He’s small, soft, and scared. He’s a joke. Devilis way overpaid. Not as bad as the Caufield overpay but close.

Feel like scoring matters in the playoffs too. Something he's pretty good at.

If they have the room or go to the net hard.

Fla had a hard time getting to the net front these last games.

Bratt

1 goal in 12 games in these playoffs

Probably why they lost in the 2nd round.  Can have your smurf be your leading hitter and still think you can win a cup...

Pettersson had the exact same amount of hits as Bratt in the bubble, and he seem to do just fine in the “playoff”. This playoffs, Bratt averaged just about the same amount of hits as Stone, Eichel, and Lundell.

The playoff isn’t just all about physicality. You need a balance of skill, durability, and physicality to be successful in the playoffs.

Yup. Bratt is craperolla. Devils likely miss the playoffs next year. Too small. Too slow. Too scared. Crap team in a crap city.

True. But Brat sucks pucks. Learn to hate. It’s soothing to the Canuck fan.

I can appreciate hating on another team but sometimes it’s pretty hypocritical to target other players whom are direct comparisons to some of ours
