If this happens, you gotta think one of the big 4 are gone. Likely Nylander, but wouldn't be surprised to see Marner gone.

Marner had a NMC kick in on July 1st, he isn’t going anywhere.

Definitely Murray.

I don't think moving Murray would be enough to cover signing both Samsonov and Domi. Would have to be Murray + another player. Or just one larger contract like Nylander.

It'll cost them.  Unlike Murray (negative value), Nylander is coming off a career year and a solid postseason effort.  In a typical market he would be worth a lot.  But right now?  Toronto is over the cap.  Teams aren't going to make great offers anymore.  Why didn't Treliving try to trade him earlier?

This is so messed up. They are definitely unloading someone big to fit these contracts. Hopefully no team makes it easy for them and Leafs get way less than market for whoever they try to trade.

Definitely seems like they've put themselves in a bad place, rather than doing something with one of the big 4 earlier. And I don't even think just Nylander going will get them under the cap.

Also they will want zero cap coming back, so that drops the teams able to trade for him substantially, and those teams won't want to give up futures or picks.
