    650 has turned me off. their whole show is pumping, pettersson's tires. they have him in the hall of fame already.

      Yeah, I don't know what to do either for radio. Sportsnet guys are enthusiastic but short on experience and historical perspective. Over on 1040 they are still playing Beatles intro music and using Seinfeld references and spending a lot of time bickering over nothing.

      I will say this.  Tack on his year in Sweden, then the hype makes more sense.  A year against men, and breaking the records he did says a lot.  What he's done in Vancouver already also helps the hype train, which admittedly i'm finding myself a part of.  I actually like the Mathews comparison, because Mathews took a similar route to the league.  Lets see how this year shakes up before we use terms like "generational" but as it sits, this kid made this team instantly better and that says something!
