Tough reality is Vcr has a full 50 man roster which is stoppimng them sign other propsects....players have to show they belong on that roster or move them out and bring in fresh meat

Not everyone becomes an elite star on their first year. I swear half of CDC has ADHD when it comes to our prospects, no patience at all.
elvis15
Blomstrand would get a longer look if he was up for a new contract this summer, but of course he has two years remaining on his current one so he's not going anywhere just yet.
stonecoldstevebernier
The K-Wings are out of the playoffs in the first round - Blomstrand had a goal and an assist in five games, and missed tonight's with an injury. Here's to hoping he can stick in the AHL next year after a decent season stats-wise in the E, like Grenier and Archibald have done.
elvis15
He's another I expected a bit more from this year so hopefully he can show some improvement. He has a lot of very solid attributes that could make him very effective in an NHL bottom 6, but he has a ways to go to get there.
wshdrvvn
people talk about the Detroit model for development on here all the time. blomstrand, tommernes, andersson, grenier, and even archibald are the type of guys that we should be AOK with marinating in the AHL as long as it takes. these are the type of guys we need to have the utmost patience with and not try to be the first to call bust. (BTW, not saying you're calling him a bust Elvis. Just have a feeling the bust narrative is going to creep into this thread sooner rather than later.) Gaudette Celly
Two goals for Blomstrand tonight, bringing his scoring totals to 18G 10A for 28 points in 35 games. That surpasses his total of 27 last year in 46 games.
DeNiro
I'd like to see him get called up to the Comets at the end of the K-wings season. It would be nice to see how far he's progressed. I haven't really been able to follow him much. All I know is he works hard and is a great skater. If he has added a physical element to his game, we could have another Kenins type player with him. In his two stints in Utica last year (started and ended the year with the Comets) Blomstrand was as vanilla of a player as you could find. Just floated while avoiding any of the hard areas, no physical presence and showed no real skill with he puck or quickness. He didn't even get invited to the Comets camp this year. I'm not holding my breath that Blomstrand will ever develop into a real prospect.
Guest Dasein
^ That's disappointing to hear.. This guy was thought to have Jannik Hansen upsides when drafted But at least we picked up Kenins for free who seems to have grown into that
Gaudette Celly
Blomstrand with two goals in the third to erase a 4:2 deficit and send the game to overtime, then was on the ice for the winner tonight against Evansville.
CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Ludwig is just buried by the depth in Utica. I don't think he got a fair enough shake there...hopefully he can convince Utica to bring him back up to see him again.
Derp...
Dood has been putting up some of the best numbers of his career. I for one would be interested to see where he is at.

Gaudette Celly
Two more goals for Blomstrand tonight, for 28 on the season but with just 11 assists. That's 17 goals in his last 17 games(!).

on the cycle
This guy is interesting amazing skater with size (listed at both 198lbs and 218lbs, for whatever that's worth) Looks like a straight line player when I watched him when he played on the wolves. Derp...
He's projecting similar to Grenier right now I think. Speed ad shot, but lacks the Defensive side. He should get a look though, any guy who scores 30 goals at age 22 in a pro league has to have something working for him.
