BuretoMogilny
No MORE PLAYERS FROM FLORIDA PLEASE - UNLESS THEY HAVE YET TO PUT ON A FLA UNIFORM I THINK WE'VE SEEN HOW POORLY THEY TRANSITION TO VAN
DeNiro
Kopecky is a 4th liner on a good team. A guy you could possibly promote to the Sedin line now and then, but not a permanent solution. Mattias is the guy i'd want here. Maybe Goc. Seeing as they are both 2-way centers.
BlurTriX
Sedin - Sedin - Burrows Raymond - Stastny - Versteeg Higgins - Kesler - Hansen Sestito - Lapierre - Weise Hamhuis - Bieksa Edler - Tanev Garrison - (?) Booth and Ballard gone. That's a cup winning line-up if you ask me. Get Stastny and Versteeg please.

AHAHAHAHAHA THE IDIOT NAMED GILLIS -- WHO ALL OF YOU SAID WAS A GENIUS UP UNTIL JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO -- TRADED ALL THE CANUCKS' TOP PROSPECTS AWAY!! - GETTING RID OF ONE ONE CRAP FLORIDA PLAYER FOR ANOTHER CRAP FLORIDA PLAYER?!?! AHAHAHAHAHAHA HOW'S THAT HODGSON/KASSIAN TRADE WORKING OUT, GILLIS? HOW'S GETTING RID OF GRABNER WORKING OUT, GILLIS? HOW'S LETTING SALO AND EHRHOFF WALK WORKING OUT, GILLIS? HOW'S LETTING IMPACT GUYS LIKE MITCHELL AND TORRES WALK, GILLIS? HOW'S THAT GARRISON SIGNING WORKING OUT, GILLIS? HOW ARE MOST OF THE GUYS THAT YOU'VE CHOSEN TO KEEP AROUND PERFORMING, GILLIS -- EG, LAPIERRE, WEISS, BOOTH, RAYMOND, KASSIAN, SCHROEDER, ETC.? DIBdaQUIB
Booth hasn't been effective and is not earnignhis salary. Still, to me this speaks more about the failure of the socuting staff and MG. Committing to a guy that has been such a misfit shows theyr are grasping and hopiung versus planning and analysing. If MCk is right and Gillis is willing to open the cupboard of picks and prospects, I can't help believe it is due to either panic, or some kind of loyalty/arrangment with the Sedins to try and get them a cup. Either way, it certainly looks like he has abandoned the Detroit model and it is uncelar what model, if any, he is following. The team isn't big and mean enough to handle a Boston opponent,; it isn't fast enough or talented enough to handle a Chicago opponent; it isn't good enough defensively to hanf in with Nashville type opponent so...what is this team's identity and what is the plan? Merci
Luongo for Versteeg and Campbell Sauve and Florida's 3rd for Jagr Booth, Ballard, 2014 1st or 2nd for Stastny Sedin - Sedin - Jagr Stastny - Kesler - Versteeg Burrows - Raymond - Hansen Higgins - Lapierre - Kassian Hamhuis - Campbell Edler - Tanev Garrison - Bieksa Schneider Not sure if that's cap friendly but hoollllyyyyyyyy is that team stacked
riffraff
HOW'S THAT CAPSLOCK KEY WORKING FOR YOU, BUDDY? lol Bringing in Versteeg will do nothing to save this team. But it will show that Gillis doesn't really have any agenda anymore other than to free up capspace for Florida.
Special Ed
Don't see the Statsny trade happening. Think we get Versteeg and Matthias. If the Yagr one worked we'd win the cup.
Monty
I have to remind you guys that the Leafs got rid of Versteeg for a reason...
oldnews
What an awful thread. Terrible read. McKenzie is being passive aggressive - and he's not really on his game. One of two things happening here - Bob is trolling MG or MG is trolling Bob. Booth - not gonna be bought out. AV was speaking highly of him (and Kassian) for a reason - Booth has a +22 relative corsi, only 41.1% offensive zone starts (54.4 finishes) - it's plain for the eye to see that he's playing some very good hockey despite not scoring a lot (and he is centered by a shutdown guy, Lapierre)... MG - not going to trade away all his picks. Don't buy a word of it. May as well be hockeyyyyinsiderrrrrr talking.
UFCanuck
Booth is a really solid physical player with power. But for some reason his offense has gone missing. His cap hit demands offensive production. Booth, Ballard, and Luongo are cap hits that should be gone by next season. Too much cap space tied up in positions where we have depth. CHIPS
I can't believe anyone would be defending Booth's play in here. Yea he tries hard, but trying hard doesn't mean anyhting if it's not helping us win! He gets paid 4 million dollars to score goals, not skate around really fast. I laugh when people want us to go out and get good players, yet don't wanna give up any draft picks. Either we're going for it now, or we're dismantling it and starting a rebuild. There's no in between at this point. Good players are going to cost us something of value, you have to face the facts. If we have a chance to trade Booth and acquire Versteeg, you do it in a second. Versteeg has the ability to change games/series, while Booth is a third line checker at this point. I'd do: Luongo Schroeder 2nd Versteeg Kopecky Matthias Sedin Sedin Kopecky Burrows Kesler Kassian Raymond Versteeg Hansen Higgins Matthias Lapierre
TOMapleLaughs
Go look at Versteeg's playoff numbers, and then go look at Booth's. Then you can get back to me.

theminister
The plan was puck possession. We are supposed to have the puck on our sticks for a large portion of the game. And that generate chances and prevent the enemy from scoring. However, no one would have foresaw how poor the Canucks are without the puck. It is like Canucks have the puck 70% of the time, while the enemy have the puck only 30% of the time. But somehow the enemy still out chance and outscore us. So puck possession didn't directly lead to chances, nor did it prevent the enemy from getting chances. Who would have known?
Master Mind
If we do plan on getting rid of Booth, we should trade him for picks, and use those picks as part of a trade to bring in a better player.
DeNiro
Sigh... If only we had the rest of the 2010 Hawks that made those numbers possible.
Edlerberry
Our only natural RW are Hansen and the plug Weise. (Although, Burrows has done well at RW). Anaheim is loaded with RWs ahaha.
Apples
Booth should be a worth a least a 7th round pick. Pretty sure there are other teams looking for a player like him
