Provost
I could honestly see this as our lineup next season. Just picked O'byrne as he is a local guy and in the mold of a cheap RH 3rd pairing veteran with a little toughness, Montador is another similar choice. The youth movement means giving our young guys significant ice time... Kassian I really believes stays on the top line. If you need toughness, you slide out Jensen, Santorelli, and Weber... move Richardson to the middle in the 4th line between Sestito and Weise. (promoting Booth to the 2nd line). If you need skill, you have Santorelli on the 4th line and have two third lines who can contribute.... also it is a 4th line you can trust to be out there in pretty much any situation. FORWARDS Daniel Sedin ($6.100m) / Henrik Sedin ($6.100m) / Zack Kassian ($0.870m) Nicklas Jensen ($0.863m) / Ryan Kesler ($5.000m) / Alexandre Burrows ($4.500m) Chris Higgins ($2.500m) / Brendan Gaunce ($1.057m) / Jannik Hansen ($1.350m) David Booth ($4.250m) / Mike Santorelli ($0.550m) / Brad Richardson ($1.150m) Tom Sestito ($0.750m) / Dale Weise ($0.677m) DEFENSEMEN Dan Hamhuis ($4.500m) / Kevin Bieksa ($4.600m) Jason Garrison ($4.600m) / Chris Tanev ($1.750m) Alexander Edler ($5.000m) / Yannick Weber ($0.650m) Ryan O'Byrne ($1.100m) / GOALTENDERS Roberto Luongo ($5.333m) Joacim Eriksson ($0.925m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,174,833; BONUSES: $162,500 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $287,

Dion Phaneuf
Happy with this signing. Mike IIRC can play all 3 forward positions.
mrhopeless
In 2013 he had 4 points in 34 games; was a minus twelve, with 12 hits. But on the other hand he's Italian...

Apples
I like this signing more than the Richardson. Not alot of playoff experience or success in the last 2 years, but we'll see.

TmanVan
Although I wouldn't call him small...he isn't what I would call a 'prototypical' 4th liner..which from my understanding is what MG is kind of trying to go for these days (you know...the whole getting bigger and stronger thing). I hope he does turn out to be some sort of face-off wizard, I suppose.

Pears
I'm all for upgrading depth and all, but our top six should be the part of our team needing upgrades.

Jai604
I love how when the Canucks sign some player I have barely heard of I come to these boards and see unbridled enthusiasm.

Kryten
People who have Hansen on the fourth line need to give up their wake and bake morning ritual, it is clearly affecting their ability to think. As for Santorelli, good depth signing, hope he finds some magic playing for his hometown.

Bodee
Some of us actually know who Santorelli is. Just because you're ignorant doesn't mean this isn't a good signing.
