ForsbergTheGreat
It’s been a slow week and not much news around the draft combine so, time for some discussion…. Did Lundqvist just solidify himself as the second best, all time, currently active goalies behind Brodeur? Current Active all time win list Brodeur GP 1259 W 688 L 394 T 105 OTL 49 SO 124 SA% .912 GAA 2.24 Luongo GP 803 W 373 L 312 T 33 OTL 78 SO 66 SA% .919 GAA 2.51 Nabokov GP 686 W 350 L 221 T 29 OTL 55 SO 59 SA% .912 GAA 2.43 Khabibulin GP 799 W 333 L 334 T 58 OTL 39 SO 46 SA% .907 GAA 2.72 Lundqvist GP 574 W 309 L 195 T 0 OTL 62 SO 50 SA% .920 GAA 2.26 Vokoun GP 700 W 300 L 288 T 33 OTL 43 SO 51 SA% .917 GAA 2.55 Miller GP 559 W 294 L 194 T 1 OTL 57 SO 29 SA% .915 GAA 2.59 Fleury GP 531 W 288 L 169 T 2 OTL 44 SO 28 SA% .910 GAA 2.62 Prior to this season I think you could have made an argument that Luongo was second, all-time, currently active goalies, as he had taken his team to the cup finals, Something the King was yet to do, until yesterday. So did the win yesterday push the odds in Lundqvist’ favor? If both goalies were to retire tomorrow which “one” has the better “chance” of getting in the HOH? Mustapha
If Lundqvist wins the next series, I would definitely put him ahead of Luongo. I didn't realize how many wins Lundqvist has already amassed. By the time he retires Lundqvist might be up there with other championship guys like Vernon, Fuhr et al.
Langdon Algur
I think his Vezina trophy and Hart nomination already give him the edge over Luongo as a HHOF candidate although I think both goalies are longshots.
Tangelos
Lundqvist is a beast. Has always been stellar in the playoffs, it's just his team sucked.
ForsbergTheGreat
If Lundqvist wins the next series, I would definitely put him ahead of Luongo. I didn't realize how many wins Lundqvist has already amassed. By the time he retires Lundqvist might be up there with other championship guys like Vernon, Fuhr et al. He's averaged 35 wins per season. assuming his play doesn't drop, by the time his next contract runs out he will be in Patrick Roy territory. 550 wins. Now these win stats shouldn't be compared as Patrick played in a period where goalie were accredited with ties and not a 50/50 chance of adding another win through the shootout out. Brodeur at 688 wins, in a period with “ties” is quite the accomplishment. He’s got more wins than most goalies play in a career.
Aladeen
Aside from a couple of seasons Lundqvist has had far superior team mates, As can be told by their relatively even SV% but Henrik having the far better GAA.
ilovewinona
Lundqvist is as steady as they come. To me he's hands down the best goalie in the league right now.
elvis15
Luongo's stats include some bad Florida teams. I don't think the stats lines alone drops Luongo. Let's wait and see what Lundqvist can do in the finals.
Xbox
It's definitely arguable for sure. I'd put Lund at 2nd and Rask at 3rd.
Honeydew
One of the best European goalies in this current NHL.
-AJ-
At this point, Lu wins just due to longevity, but if the pace continues, Lundqvist will certainly pass him.

Pears
Lundqvist would be a sure fire Hall of Famer if he wins that allusive Cup this year.

Nuxfanabroad
You've gotta' marvel at this guy's ability & consistency. All on the heels of signing a major contract(which has put excess pressure on many an athlete). When his career is finished, I'd say the question will be whether he should be considered in the AT top-10, or rather, AT top-5.(today, I'd prob go Sawchuck, Hasek, Brodeur, Roy, as top-4; & ???Hall/Plante/Smith/Dryden)? Last 'tender of AT top-5 is debatable. Perhaps HL will seize that #5 spot?
Jiggs50
Not yet imo. He's extremely close though. If he wins the cup he would definitely move ahead.
hockeyville88
Still a long ways to go in determining where he ranks and he definitely needs to win a Cup to be considered with those elite names. But I will say that I'm happy for him to finally get a shot at playing in the Finals. He's a big stage goalie and it's going to be fun to see how he does when the Cup is on the line.
