TheRussianRocket.
@jhiitela:Our sources say Finnish KHL team Jokerit (or their Russian part owners to be exact) has offered 10M USD /season to Teemu Selanne #NHLDucks@jhiitela:They have also offered 5M USD if he only plays home games. #NHLDucks http://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/550759Report: Selanne offered $10M by KHL's Jokerit; $5M for home games only Details in regards to Jokerit's attempts to lure forward Teemu Selanne to the KHL for the 2014-15 season emerged Thursday morning, with the club's Russian owners reportedly offering both big bucks and an interesting work schedule. Jokerit co-owner Roman Rotenberg reiterated to Finnish media outlet Ilta-Sanomat that it is "really important" to secure the 44-year-old's services, emphasizing the club's "readiness to wait for the decision" (via Google translate). If Selanne chooses the home game option, it may be time to change "Teemu Forever" to "Part-time Teemu." Teemu Selanne getting a contract where he ONLY plays home games? Yeah ok...tell me again what a legend he is.

Dal Colle
:) Do it Teemu. It's for more retirement money so you could go to Disneyland and Universal Studios more often... :)

gizmo2337
He will stay retired or take the 10. Although the work schedule sounds interesting, my bet is he wouldn't have any part of that. You are either fully committed, or not.
TheRussianRocket.
I would love for him to do it. Home town, back in his native land, and end his career where he began playing 5 years before coming over to NA.
Spoosh
He will stay retired or take the 10. Although the work schedule sounds interesting, my bet is he wouldn't have any part of that. You are either fully committed, or not. The travel schedule for Jokerit makes Vancouver look like an eastern team. The teams are scattered alls cross mother russia and Jokerit basically looks like the Canucks in terms of travel. So from that standpoint alone, I doubt Teemu will play, even if he feels tempted to. And he probably couldn't find it in him to be a stay-at-home kinda guy, where he gets literally all the money and the guys go out working their asses off on the road. + signing him would have a huge impact to the KHL, and fans across Russia & Latvia etc would definitely like to see him when newcomer Jokerit arrives to play on their home ice. I could see him playing a few games just be able to end his career with the team that gave him the chance in the first place. That would be a fitting end to a beautiful career. No. Quite a few European players go play in Europe after they've retired from the NHL.

-Vintage Canuck-
Do it! Would be a great, fitting end to Selanne's career to go back home to play one more season where he first started.

CanuckGAME
Teemu would never accept to only play home games... that just turns him into a spectacle, and a hindrance to the team. Teemu is a team first guy, either hes playing to help his teammates or hes not playing at all. Obviously im just speculating but this is what I feel about Teemu, he isnt a money hungry guy. Look at the contract he took in colorado compaired to the contract Paul Kariya took when they went there.
thundernuts
I don't think he'll take it. Mentally, I think he has come to terms with his retirement decision. He has made a lot of money over the years. His family, home and business are in Anaheim. I don't think he'll disrupt all that to move to Finland for another year of hockey. On the other hand....... $10 000 000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
