12-16-FG
A overwhelming thought that has me asking?, would Nashville listen to a deal for Weber and their 2nd pick in 2016, in exchange for Edler, Shinkarick and a 3rd in 2016 (sorry is Hunters name spelled wrong)
Outsiders
[Proposal] Shinkaruk * And try Edler 1st Virtanen at least
Junkyard Dog
They'd want Tanev, Horvat, our 2015 1st, and probably a couple other significant pieces. Definitely not worth.
Mathew Barzal
No, and we're not in the position to be making demands for him. We need to draft OUR Weber in the next few years, because we can't compete with the Sedins for much longer.
-AJ-
They would not do that. Weber is a franchise d-man who would need some very solid return. Also, the Preds are on the rise. Outsider's offer of Edler, Virtanen, and a 1st is much more realistic.
Gstank29
Weber is my favorite defenceman in the NHL. That being said, we are more likely to draft a Weber than be able to trade for one

12-16-FG
thanx outsiders i tried to stay away from Virtanen, but still your proposal probably works. And yes get him now if you can, he is in his prime and can best be a mentor to Subban when he is ready. This team will survive the lose of the twins in a couple of years. Nuxfanabroad
TBay's the kind of org that has the requisite, excess talent. They could afford a cost like Drouin, Namestnikov/Kucherov, Koekkoek & 1st. Or would straight-up for Stammer be reasonable?
jdatb
we have him already.
Warhippy
Weber WILL be traded in the future. There is almost no question with his cap hit and length of contract. But, it won't be for 3 to 5 seasons minimum. And even then he's going to command a 1st a top prospect and a + just to initiate discussions. Also, we could not in any possible scenario fit him under the cap without gutting the team of essential pieces

However, if Nashville doesn't get any deeper than the second round this spring, I could see him asking for a trade. That would put Poile in the driver's seat as both trade clauses requested by both Weber and his agent were refused. He won't be retiring a Predator, that's for sure. Mackcanuck
In 2012 Shea Weber was offer sheeted a 14 year $100M contract by PHI, the deal was front-loaded with bonus-money payouts in the first several years. NSH matched and to say it financially hurt the franchise, is putting it mildly, being a small market team. That offer sheet would have cost PHI 4 first round draft picks http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm

Where's Wellwood
If Weber is traded at some point, how would the cap recapture penalty for Nashville compare to the penalty van is set to pay for Luongo?
