the harry
The Canucks went 0-1-2 on their recent road trip but return home to Rogers Arena, where they are 15-6-2. Vancouver's 27th-ranked power play allowed a shorthanded goal with two seconds left in a 2-1 overtime loss against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday and was 1-for-8 in a 5-4 shootout loss against the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday. Philadelphia was 2-for-4 on the power play. "If we were better on special teams, there is no question we win both of those games," center Bo Horvat said. The power play has been ineffective most of the season with a 13.7 percent success rate, but is slightly better at home (16.9 percent) than on the road (10.3 percent). "If we had better special teams, we'd have better results," forward Alexandre Burrows said. "If we can clean that up and keep working hard I like our chances at home." https://www.nhl.com/news/new-jersey-devils-vancouver-canucks-game-preview/c-285707546
Hairy Kneel
Put Bo in charge of the power play. Team meeting and select a new plan of attack. Because our power play needs a face lift.

Cut down their minutes so they are as good to go as they can be on 5 on 5. - Share the minutes between the Bo/Baer/Burr line, and Granlund and Sutter. - Put in Pedan for a game to see what you have. - Same goes for Boucher and Rodin. As the Sedin's have their minutes reduced see if Rodin on a line with them is ok. - Try some different looks on the power play. Have Eriksson in front, something. - Bench Megna or send him down. No way, if we are still trying to win that would be a silly move. Oh and Rodin is crocked. 5. tick 6. An idiot move in the circumstances. Why do some fans want to run this club like it was a video game or a pub team. Changes have consequences and they are not guaranteed to be good, when will people realise that? Odd.
Put Boucher in against his former team. Sit Megna out for this one.

No line changes as per the NHL preview posted above by @the harry: Desjardins said he won't make any other lineup changes, meaning forward Reid Boucher, who played nine games for the Devils this season, will be a heathy scratch for the sixth straight game since being claimed off waivers Jan. 4. Because it's not working? And when did Pedan play this season? If he wasn't good enough to play, why call him up from Utica? If the changes don't work, we can go back the next game and try something else. The sad part is the Canucks never seem to have enough practice time to try new things. Fateless
Getting really disgusted at Willie's love for Megna. No reason we should be claiming someone off waivers just to sit them in the pressbox while an AHL plug gets 15+ minutes a game. Sad to hear about Rodin, hopefully he feels better soon and we can see what we have in him. I expect a win.
