  1. Big day coming up, Canucks have a chance to potentially draft a massive part of their d-core in the 2nd or 3rd most loaded draft in 100 years, Simashev, Reinbacher, Sandin-Pelikka and Willander all possibilities, while a stud forward like Benson could fall to 11. Danielson is another possibility

Yeah most loaded draft in 100 years and we trade 2023 1st and 2nd for Hronek. The management couldn't control themselves and overpaid like fook.

So yes, we dont have a 2nd. Which makes half the post irrelevant now.

  2. Benning should now be the most hated Canuck in franchise history.  He has ruined this team in such a way that Messier couldn't even imagine.

Hmmmm I don't get it... Most of what the fans are betting on, the retool, is based on Benning's work lol..Pettersson/Hughes/Demko/Miller. And when Benning was here 2014-2022, this board was overwhelmingly supportive of Benning; like Benning could do no wrong. Criticism was rare and when there was, people would jump on it lol.

  3. Why did we let Juho Lammiko go? He seemed like a great fit. Lammiko Aman Joshua would be a fantastic 4th line in todays NHL.

@Dazzle You should think more before you react. Read it. They need more room to make a statement.

Moving Hughes, Pettersson, and Demko? Not unless they want to get fired. So the room they had left was to refit people from down below, which meant 4th liners like Lammiko.

Player acquired by the old regime. New regimes need more room to make a statement for themselves.

  5. Why is everyone here convinced we can sell Myers after his bonus?  He gets it Sept. 1.  What kind of team wouldn't be cap compliant that late into the offseason?  No team.

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

      Uhhh.. just like how..

Tryamkin's coming back to our team to solidy our defense for the last 8 years

      or

Loui Eriksson is going to get traded after his bonus is paid on July 1st.

Don't need to be an expert to see the pattern...

  6. E5: Dubas to Pittsburgh after the Leafs are done failing in the playoffs this season

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

Other than getting suckered into 3 monster contracts, you can see intelligence behind Duba's moves. Too bad East is so damn competitive this year. It think it is NYR that will come out on top. We'll see, we'll see.

  7. In the Canuck Luck event, we drop in the draft. Should the team trade down say with Detroit for thier 1st and our 2nd rounder back? Would Yzerman bite?

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

That 2nd rounder is pretty valuable in a very solid draft year. Don't know why we didn't trade 2024 picks for Hronek... but that's just Canucks.

  8. 40 goals.

    Thanks Benning.

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

lol... took him 9 years to get to 40 goals. He was still getting his minutes cut into 11-13minutes, 3rd line roles, as early as last season or even this season. Not to mention it was Benning who brought us the pick and drafted the player. So you agonizing on Benning for losing McCann when he created it in the fist place doesn't make too much sense.  And McCann's character issues are real, we should be thankful for not having to suffer 9 years of that.

  9. If Canucks somehow win #2 or #3, I’d trade that pick along with the next 4 1st rounders and our best prospects for #1

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

I would too. But I dont think any GM would risk leaving a mark on history as the one who traded away Bedard.

Not to mention the revenue a name like Bedard will bring to a team.

  10. Canucks better hope this "structure" continues next season, otherwise they wasted a crazy opportunity to draft a franchise player in the top 5 of this draft

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

When you trade away our tank commander Rilley Stillman, you still expect to lose games? Notice how Buffalo lost 0-7 last night and is 2-6-2 in their last 10? Sire Stillman is doing his job there.

    2. (See 3 other replies to this status update)

  11. Oilers, Leafs, Jets all gonna lose in round 1. EDM still has no goaltending and Ekholm has been underwhelming, TOR has injury problems while their star Matthews is having a sub par season, and the Jets, if they get in, are a circus on the ice, GO CANUCKS next season we got this

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

? You'd rather your fellow Canadian teams do crap and have the American teams win instead?

Toronto aside, Oilers are trending up. They could be vs LA or Dallas, how do they have no chance in round 1 again...? Jets are vs Vegas, I wouldn't call that loopsided as well.

  12. Which is worse: OEL at 7.2 for 4 more years, or Huberdough at 10.5 for 8? Flames are so screwed!

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

Just the chain of events.. The return for Tkachuk was very good. Huberdeau, Weegar, a B prospect and 1st. Pretty much have to re-sign Huberdeau and Weegar or the trade was pointless, and you had to pay them market price.

There's a pretty high chance Huberdeau will rebound, hes been a good player his whole career.

  13. In Stillman and Myers we trust, this tank will carry on

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

You mean Stillman was traded here to drive the tank? Allvin is a genius beyond believe.

  14. Boeser to Columbus rumblings outta Columbus, and Hronek, Rasmussen, and 2024 1st apparently on table from Detroit for Bo Horvat, should be an interesting month leading up to deadline

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

A little less than what I'm expecting... but if that is the best offer on the table, I'd take it.

  15. The initials for "J.T." in Miller's name need to stand for Just Trade.  The man's an $8 million hypocrite (pretending to get pissed off on the 4-2 goal, then turn over the puck down a goal and stop skating).

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

Some times players see the play better than us. The puck deflected quite far ahead of him, and as a player he knows how fast the puck can transition up the ice with passes, so he knew instinctively he would never catch up and he doesn't skate like an idiot for it.

Gonna get flamed for defending this lol. But just trying to be objective lol...

  16. Watch Florida win the draft lottery, which means Montreal gets Bedard. Imagine getting a potential lottery pick for Ben Chiarot.

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

Wonder if Chariot joined them at the strip club before their game4 vs Tampa. If yes, Florida paid a 1st for a "playoff run" rental, when in reality, they paid for Chariot to have a chance to enjoy strip clubs in Tampa.

More funny is after their Tkachuk blockbuster to "strengthen the team" and president trophy season, they are on pace to not make the playoffs.

  17. Bedard is an absolutely absurd talent

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

Hope he comes back home when hes UFA to bring the cup to Vancouver. At least we have a solid contending window we can look forward to within this decade.

  18. From now on, contract years should not be looked at when negotiating a new deal. Contract year = career year. Following years = dog sh*t

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

it is not from now on. If Horvat was in the management's plans they should have gotten the deal done in the summer. It is just baffling they waited and dragged their feet if they wanted to keep Horvat.

  19. So who did we trade Garland for?

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

Dylan Guenther? Seems like hes in the NHL and same points as Garland already. Patience is a killer. Those top 15 1st round picks are just so very valuable.

  21. why wouldn't JT not sign for 8.250 mil over 6 years 49.500 mil.

    retire at 37.

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

If you can get a 14 month pay from your employer, you would settle for 12 month? If Miller signs with the Canucks he and his agent knows fully well that they can/should squeeze an eight year contract. Who hasn't? Huberdeau/Zibanejad/Landeskog/Couturier. Most player contracts are designed to end when players are 29-30 years old and then they get 1 last huge 8 year deal.

  22. CBJ doesn't have enough cap to activate both Texier + Jenner from LTIR, nvm re-sign Laine. What will they do?

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

Right.. probably have to move out Voracek to sign Laine. Wonder what that would cost.. Probably shouldn't have signed Gudbranson lol; may be they didn't know they were going to sign Gaudreau....

  23. Pearson (20) - Miller (30) - Boeser (30)

    Mikheyav (25) - Petey (30)- Garland (25)

    Podkolzin (20) - Horvat (30)- Kuzmenko (20)

    Hoglander (15) - Lazar (10)- Dickinson (10)

    Forward group: 255 goals ?

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

Sadly doesnt work that way. You are counting 9 20 goal scorers; everyone has a good year scenario. Not even Avs or Florida had close to 9 20 goal scorers last season.

      Endless retooling for this organization.

There are already reports we are aiming to get back to the playoffs this season. aka JR is also retooling. Retooling never works.

  25. Does anyone feel bothered by Sony putting out a movie as terrible as Morbius, only to get financially propped up thanks to the memes about it?

I am, because Sony will never again feel the need to put in any solid effort or planning for other movies like Kraven. And if they reboot Spider-Man again, those films will be a black mark on some actor's career, just like they did to Andrew Garfield.

    1. Drakrami

      Drakrami

Morbius is grossing 163million internationally. That's pretty bad. You need 2.5x budget to break even and the budget was like 90million.
