Tragoedia
Nobody on the current roster could even come close to doing this to Douglas Murray
Smashian Kassian
I think he can be useful if he puts his mind to it.
Biasbieksa
Remember the cup run playoffs, when Kesler higgins edler were hitting? I do think Booth could maybe get into that mode too. That would be great.
Phil_314
If Kassian improved on his hitting, and Weise/ Lapierre/ Pini (hopefully Bitz comes back) do their thing, while Ballard keeps hipchecking, KB3 keeps hitting and Higgins/ Booth/ Kes/ Hansen keep doing their thing too cleanly, the team could be tough as a group and they wouldn't need guys committing dangerous hits like the ones that Raffi lays out. CaNuCkSLoUiE23
We need Torres. Our team has no player with an intimidting role in the top 9. Torres provided that.
-Vintage Canuck-
Was a huge fan of him when he was here. What I really liked about him was that he had strong lower body where he dished out huge hits and as well scoring clutch goals.
Grape
A question: Which was the dirtier play? Keith elbow on Daniel Sedin or Torres hit on Hossa? The NHL is dumb...
UFCanuck
He wasn't that physical against Boston. He's more of a kill shot hitter not always physical.
elvis15
... @Trip Remember when he hit Thornton? game 4 was it? Ol' Joe disappeared in the series after that hit.
The Brahma Bull
There was some speculation on the net that Higgins didn't get along with him. Speculation that higgins wouldn't re-sign if torres was around.
CanucksFanMike
I agree with the OP, Torres is sometimes out of control and his hits are always boarderline dirty or clean. I am glad we re-signed higgy, not torres
The Sedin's 6th Sense
Hes a series changer. I love him. and wish we still had him

Wonder__Bread
I don't understand how referees hand out penalties to him when his feet don't leave the ice, the player he hits are still in possession of the puck, he hits them with his shoulder, yeah sometimes its a shoulder to the head, but shouldn't it be a players responsibility to always expect to get hit and not keep his head down. This is the NHL, not peewee. I agree, I miss Raffi as well, but Kassian can probably be a better fit for us then Raffi.

TOMapleLaughs
He was like a nuclear deterrent. Yes, people claim that his hit on Seabrook almost cost us the Chicago series, but really it was the return of a well-rested David Bolland that did that. In round three he also took out Jumbo Joe's shoulder, and that shortened that series imo. Did we miss him vs. LA? Damn right we did. Nobody was stopping Dustin Brown and Mike Richards from running around. However, he is an oft-suspended renegade, and he is gone whether we like it or not. Certainly there's a better option than Raffi Torres. (We just might not have it yet.)
TOMapleLaughs
He did also take out David Krejci on one massive hit if you recall, but by that point the series was already blown. Krejci survived.
