R3aL
looks like a good day for tanknation carolina up 2-0 on detroit and hopefully winnipeg wins against calgary to give us a bigger cushion in the standings. 6th pick here we come We still have two games to lose!!! Absent Canuck
MDC>Ehlers If MDC is gone, plz draft Ehlers Dal Colle goes 4th. If he is still there I would take him but I still think Ehlers has the potential to be better than any forward in this draft.
R3aL
Ehlers is bigger than Drouin. He is almost 6ft and is about 170 now. I suspect he will be 6ft and 185 at full playing weight when he is 22. Nathan MacKinnon is also 6ft and he goes at about 182. He is certainly not too small. The NHL is transitioning more towards speed. We see it every year. Its nice to have a superstar who is 6ft 3 and can fight but those are gold (cough Kassian cough) and come around once a generation. It is my opinion Ehlers is almost as good as Mac Kinnon and Druoin . He was not a product of them, but in fact their equal and enhanced each other. If he falls to us TAKE HIM Drouin is around 200lbs, he may be taller than drouin but weight and strength wise he has as ways to go, and I agree he should easily get up to 185 and build his strength up to mackinnons current size at a minimum. Warhippy
Do we draft a goalie this year? One who can play in the CHL for 1-3 years and then come up to the AHL once we have space by getting rid of Cannata/Eriksson? Corbiel in the ECHL is a beast 6 foot 6 and really athletic. Looked great in penticton and we should give him a shot

baumerman77
As far as the Mason Raymond comparison with Ehlers he might get to the same size as Raymond. Ehlers of course has better skill than Raymond but his size will stop him from being able to utilize it at the NHL level. There is no doubt in my mind Ehlers will be available when we draft -- even if we finish 10th. If we finish 6th-8th and guys like Virtanen, Perlini, or even Ritchie are available the Canucks will draft one of them.

Rypien37
He's listed at 6', and was 5'11' 175ish when drafted! http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=96607 http://www.ontariohockeyleague.com/roster/show/id/2386 Regardless....6-6'1 isn't tiny. Ehlers at 5'11 isn't too bad either but at 163 pounds he needs MINIMUM 20 pounds of muscle added which will take years. He could turn into a Tyler Ennis type though. Either way I want MDC or Ritchie depending where we pick 6-10.

Kilgore111
Monahan would have been great last year if the 'Nucks could have traded up. Any chance of going all out for Bennett?

baumerman77
Elite Skill (a first overall pick like Stamkos or RNH) can be a little on the light side. Ehlers does not have this elite level skill or else everyone would have him ranked much higher.

I really don't understand why so many people are so high on Ehlers, I'm yet to see one final draft list by pro scouts with him in the top 10. We currently look geared to pick 7-9 what would we pick someone projected to be in the 12-15 range. Perhaps CDC scouts know something the pro scouts don't??? Niloc009
Sweet, Carolina with a win tonight. Canucks go 0-2 last two games, or 1-1 (with Carolina beating the Flyers in their last game), and we get the 6th pick. Hoping Burke takes Ritchie early for added truculence and we can nab MDC or Leon. Flames have couple smaller wingers already with Gaudreau and Baertschi, hopefully he goes for organizational needs and not BPA.

Dale Tallon said he sees him going in the top 5. The guy has boatloads of speed and skill and is stepping up huge for Halifax. Guys like Perlini and Ritchie were pretty average in the playoffs and likely saw their stock drop.
Derp...
We are getting a good prospect no matter what, could be top 6 could be first overall, could be 7-8 spot. No matter what we are getting a top 6 fwd prospect or top pairing Dman Ehlers could be a 6'0 tyler Johnson for all we know. Better yet, he could be a Nyquist.
