Hows Canada's superstars doing against those "weaker teams"? Pretty lame excuse

Despite not scoring, TC have been outplaying their opponents, in each of their games.

All Kesler does, is goes on the forecheck and waits in the slot for the pass.

So? TC is supposed to outplay all the opponents they have faced. Should be getting goals against these weak teams.

Also so? You say he is just feasting on weak teams then I point out how Canada forwards aren't feasting on these weaker teams, now you are trying to disregard Kesler by saying he just sits in the slot.

Kesler hate is strong in this one

lol at TC playing well.. outplaying your opponent means shyt if you can't finish and put the puck in the net.. look at the Canucks?? there's a few games in there where they outplayed their opponent and they lost every single one of them coz they can't score...

pretty pathetic when TC plays anyone barely wins.. it's the other team goalie standing on their head.. and when US wins.. well the other team sucked and they barely got by the Russian.. hey we barely got by the Fins too.. we had all the possession times against the Fins but by no means we were DOMINATING them.. so wake up.. TC is struggling and if their star players don't step up.. it's game over..

When is Crosby going to step up and make a difference? This would be the time for him to do so.

As things stand and how the teams have played, it's not even Canada's game to lose, it's the US game and Canada comes in as the underdog. That's not very common.

Team Canada has given up 74 shots on goal in 4 games. And 3 goals. The team doesn't even really need to score. That's a huge confidence boost going into tomorrow's game knowing that the other team will have a tough time generating any offensive chances.

To me this game is tricky for the US because they do like playing a more wide open style but I doubt they can match Canada in such a battle. The Canadian forwards can certainly play a two way game but will the Americans be OK sitting back and waiting for chances. In the end I think this works out to be one of Canada's easier and more fun games before they go back to the stifling, horrific to watch play that Sweden or Finland will employ in the finals.

You are not being objective in your assertion.

Actually he was, the US teams only real competition was Russia and they would have lost if not for a controversial call, their game against Team Canada will be pretty much how all of Team Canadas games have gone, low scoring, it will not be a blowout by the Yanks, by no means necessary.

The neutral zone trap is being deployed by pretty much all of the Euro teams to stifle Team Canada, while the score is close, Team Canada does not seem to be panicked by the low scoring situations. What would be nice is to have our guys throw out some more hits, it seems like all the teams we have played so far have their guys throwing huge hits at anyone who gets the puck, a little more bite in the way of big hits would be nice.

It would also be nice if they deployed PK Subban in place of Jay Bouwmeester, the guy is good at shutdown but that is about it, PK brings way more to the table, plus he is really good at throwing the body around in monster hits. Pair him with Pietrangelo for that 3rd pairing.

Ya I'm not as concerned about this game. We have had trouble scoring against trap teams. Well we know the USA won't be playing a trap. So I'm expecting a pretty open flowing game which I think favors us, and will give our forwards that little boost. I wouldn't be surprised if we finally see Crosby take over a game

Exactly my thoughts, all the teams we have played so far plays a 5 man back box the entire game, just trying to minimize the onslot, The US will not play this way, they will match our playing style, and skill for skill we defanetly, have the edge on the US.

I love using the word/expression, "eh". It leaked a little bit across the boarder here into Buffalo quite a number of years ago. For the 10 years that I lived out of state I would get funny looks every time that I would say it after a sentence. lol

My absolute hands down favorite though is when someone with a thick Canadian accent says the word, "about". "How aboot that game the other night?". It makes me grin every time.

Lol... I love how the yanks say "thick canadian accent". The only people who speak like that are from the eastern maritimes ( the smallest percentage of our population) NOBODY on the west side of the country speaks like this. So what's a yank accent? Is it the slow southern drawl? Maybe the inner city African American sound? Boston? The whole of the Midwest? Right, different sounds right? Americans need to look a little more inward if they want want to laugh at how people talk lol. Or educate themselves about how Canadians truly talk, or maybe we can call the annoying Midwest sound " a thick American accent" lol

Every time I look, Kesler is playing with Kessel, playing with Parise, playing with Van Riemsdyk. He's been scoring. And he looks big, and fast and assertive!

So much for a one dimensional defensive only specialist.

Agreed, he seems to be making everybody around him better. Imagine if he had some bonfires 2nd liners to play with?!? Love how the no-minds on HC@noon start talking how great Kessel, JVR and Pavelski have been doin.. If I noticed correctly they moved Kesler to the second to get them goin, and it worked. It's almost like they have a pre-show meeting, and Darren Millard ( he hates the Canucks and is completely biased towards eastern teams) says nobody say anything positive about the Nucks. Anybody else notice this, I watch daily and have for years, and it never changes.

A tad sensitive are we? I wasn't laughing at all. Everybody got what I was saying except you.

It's a generic term. I've been all over a large chunk of Eastern Canada and live on the US/Canadian border so I do know that there is no "one" uniform Canadian accent. Also, believe it or not there is a slight Southern Ontario accent.

Why do the English (aside from sheer snobbery) refer to what is spoken in the USA as "speaking American"?
