The Jays are 7-3 in their last 10, yet it still feels like they're in the midst of some sort of mini slump of sorts. That's 1 game left to catch up to the Royals, even if Pythagorean standing have the Jays 13 games or so ahead of the Royals in terms of performance and runs, and an easy first in the American League. It's like no matter how much they win, they cannot overcompensate for how badly they destroy their opponents when they do so. They keep winning, but their Pythagorean record refuses to begin to represent their actual W-L record. They're just that good. Before it was that they were a mediocre looking team that deserved to be amongst the best in the league. Now following their August-September run, they're almost the best in the league, but should be whole heartedly running away with the damn thing. I do hope they win.
