There's a solid chance that one of the top five fall out of the first five picks. Having the sixth overall ensures that you would get one of those top five in that scenario. Also, if Ekblad gets taken, you have to assume that the Oilers want a defenseman. They would want to trade down to number six to ensure that they get Fleury.
