CAkNUCKle sandwich
I know it's just been one game, but reflecting on tonight's result, it hasn't been much different from the past. If Vancouver took the series to 7 and eliminated the Flames, do you think they'd match up better against Kesler and the Ducks? Thoughts and Opinions? It would have definitely been a fun series to watch!
apollo
You bet. 100% Vancouver out played Anaheim in every game they played them this year but one. Which the score was extremely misleading in anyways. Anaheim dodged a huge bullet that the Flames caught fire and knocked us out. Ducks wouldn't last more than 6 games vs us. 4 or 5 if the officials called the games with any ounce of integrity. Jam126
If the Canucks felt like winning then yes. But they would only win 1 or 2 games...
Gaudette Celly
Calgary did well against LA but struggled against the Ducks. Mostly opposite for Canucks.

Yea, and considering Anaheim's defence isn't spectacular, yet Calgary was limited to 1 goal tonight. We made Calgary look good unfortunately
Barry_Wilkins
We lost to a team that just got their posteriors handed to them while playing a rusty opponent. It doesn't look good on the Canucks.
bigbadcanucks
Not a chance. Our slow forecheck wouldn't have been able to get to guys like Fowler, Lindholm and Vatanen...their shutdown guys would have denied any Canucks from taking the puck to the net and would have completely sealed off the Sedins' cycle game...their big and fast centers would have shut down Hank, Bonino and Richardson (Bo would have been the only one to match up)...their heavy forwards would have punished our d-men (we couldn't get away from the Flames wingers, and the Ducks' wingers are much faster and come in waves). Tanev, Hamhuis, Bieksa and Weber would be on an operating table getting something fixed in seven days.

Derp...
I do think we matchup better, we'll see if that Flames work ethic can make up for there lack of depth again. It looks like they might get run over though lol.
Hobbes!!!
the Ducks would've easily blown right through us. And really, who cares... We couldn't even get past a crap flames team.
Dr. Crossbar
Absolutely! I was thinking this the entire game. Nucks would have likely kept the game close. Ducks would've had to work for it or we would have won a close one.

Lol your posts are always good for a laugh. Too bad that you insist on being so fanatical and unrealistic about the Canucks because it makes everything you say ring with no credibility. Here's the reality. The canucks may match up better vs the ducks.. They may have even won 2-3 games.. But Anaheim went into round 2 as fresh as could be, resting their players at the end of the regular season and then having the last week off after wiping away the Jets like a light mist. Give the ducks some respect.. They are a serious NHL team.. Another level from the likes of the Canucks, Flames, Jets, blues, wild etc.

Phil_314
Hiller outplayed Miller (roughly the same as Lack); their blue-line is better than ours, they have higher-end talent in their top-6 forwards and the big guys (Colborne, Ferland, Engelland, etc.) to match-up with the Ducks. Guys like Bennett deal with tight checking (at least the tightest checking we could muster) pretty well. Plus Beast Mode seems to be a thing again, whereas Nick Bones has gone Bones dry offensively and we don't have Kass to at least help the Twins. If they march #17 out against #22 and #33 they'd probably disappear again, like they did in the season when against Ryan. The Twins weren't built for the N.A. checking game (see how Canada locked down Sweden in the Olympic Gold Medal Game?) With how cold our offense was and how they blew through the Jets I'd say at most 5 games and we'd be done.
-AJ-
We'd lose hard, honestly. We have the experience to compete with them, but I'd be surprised if we made it past 5 games against the Ducks.
Honky Cat
No we wouldn't match up....Ducks had injuries the first couple of games we played them this season,....When healthy, they look like complete team to me (thats why I'm picking them to win it all this season)...They would take us in 5.
