Pavel.10.Bure
I'm sure LA will extend Lucic. If they do, not an overpayment at all. This, people here are so confident on him signing with us next year. They are forgetting HE chose the 15 teams he's willing to be traded to and LA is one of them. We're not getting him next year or ever. And we are in for some harsh reality of getting destroyed in the pacific for a while. There is completely nothing to be optimistic about right now. Even IF the off season is not even over yet.
insomniac604
Boston will probably package their picks for #3 and get Hanifin. So that in 3 years they can do it all over again.Lucic will be a good fit for LA. Bad for us. Cgy will be a beast, then there's McDavid, Lucic in LA, Kes in ANA & possible Bieksa in SJ. Gonna get thrown around next year

M A K A V E L I 96
Lucic is like a dirtier version of David Clarkson. He isn't going to help the Kings much with the way his career has been going downhill year by year.
Provost
cap retained????? F%&* Me! Ya, holy crap LA gets better (even if Lucic is on the downslide) at a cheap cap hit. Tough to be a Canucks fan today as all the teams around us look to be pushing us out of the playoff picture.

Even having his "down" year last season, he tallied 44 points, 81 PIMS and a whole lot of hits and bruises. Hate him all you want, Lucic is an absolute beast and at his worst is still the best PF in the game.

Scorevat
I miss when the northwest division was the weakest and we would kill all the teams in our divison lol.
TOMapleLaughs
I suppose LA will lose Justin Williams? And then there's Voynov and Stoll. Vast improvement isn't a guarantee in LA, but still, having to face a line of Lucic-Kopitar-Brown would be downright unbearable for any of our lines. The reality of where we are really at needs to sink in, esp. after watching the moves made by the 2011 cup champ Bruins today. They're better than us, but they're still making huge moves for the future. So wtf.
Bang Bang Boogie
Lucic is like a dirtier version of David Clarkson. He isn't going to help the Kings much with the way his career has been going downhill year by year. It's clear you're just a Boston hater after 2011. Lucic is still managed to score 18 goals in "down" year while being one of the most intimidating presences in the league. Why don't you go make a clever little video about how he's so dirty and going downhill?
Tangerines
Would we have been prepared to give up: Cassells 1st round pick (23rd) Lack To get lucic for 1 year??? Doubt it. it sounds like that is roughly what LA gave up. LA is in win now mode we aren't
detooned
Pierre LeBrun @Real_ESPNLeBrun 35s35 seconds ago The Bruins retained close to half of Lucic's cap hit/salary in order to make trade work with the cap-strung Kings
Darius
I miss when the northwest division was the weakest and we would kill all the teams in our divison lol. the irony is that all those years the canucks were using the northwest as a doormat those teams were accumulating high picks which are starting to pay dividends for them now. in a way the canucks had a big hand in making those teams finish so low and as a result get high picks....
