theminister
Wow. Great deal for St. Louis if Tarasenko develops into a bonafide stud. He already is. Though he's only played 2.5 seasons in the NHL he's been playing pro for 7 total and succeeded at every turn. He's arrived already and only getting better. FireGillis
Bargain deal for the blues. Surprised he signed for 8 years at that price. Sign a bridge deal and he could probably make 8-9m a year after it. He's a stud and will be underpaid in a few years.

JeremyCuddles
People say steal but I think it's right in his wheel house. Good solid deal for both sides.

Nas19
My god what is with the complaining about this deal? Dude is friggin unreal. One of the best young players in the league. He got less than what I thought he would. I thought he would get $9M plus. $7.5M is a friggin steal for this guy. I'm shocked he only got that much. TheRussianRocket.
@MimicoHero: $7.5 MM x 8 for Tarasenko. Worth every penny - dynamic talent http://t.co/K15OW2qrFc Electric talent.
theminister
Vanek 2.0 Vanek could never skate like Tarasenko and he's not as physical. So really not at all alike except for the ability to shoot the puck, which Tarasenko can do off of the rush.

TOMapleLaughs
And that's where the similarities end. Both are very different players. Both are wingers who've scored at high rates, justifying their salary at the time? As for playing style, I think we've just forgotten how good Vanek was. He's slowed as of late though.

Canuck Surfer
Look, how hard would it have been to agree on a 3 year bridge contract with 37 goal scorer? Tarasenko gives up 5 years of unrestricted free agency if I have it right??? So debatably a top 3 young goal scorer in the NHL, with Seguin & Benn, is now locked up through the entirety of his prime. Some risk, but its what I would have done. Wait till people see what Stamkos gets next year!
WHL rocks
$7.5 per for Terrasenko? Great deal for the Blues. This guy is a superstar in the making. Highlight reel goals, brings ppl to the rink. Reminds me of Bure. I thought he would be around $8.5 + . Blues did well with this signing.
jstewboy
LOL my GOD some of you people just look at all the negatives and glorify the poop out of em... Barring any monumental collapse, this is a great deal for Tarasenko. In 3 years we will have guys getting similar AAV while putting up 60% of the points 'Senko does. Take the blinders off people, I'm actually starting to get worried about you.
