stonecoldstevebernier
The Crunch take a 1-0 lead after Racine's wrist shot rebounds off Demko right to Ikonen in front. And then they score again right off the ensuing faceoff. 2-0. Wow.

Nuxfanabroad
Next yr... At least they made it interesting. That 1-0 loss last wk was their death-knell.
DeNiro
Well looks like their playoff hopes are dead on arrival. The Ice Caps go up 3-0 and the Comets go down 2-0. A good season nonetheless considering all the adversity they went through.
stonecoldstevebernier
The Marlies get one back to make it 3-1 vs St John's. The Comets have a lot of work to do to even make it interesting though, its hard to imagine a worse start than this.
Violator
I hope they come back it's very early in the game.

Unfortunately they didn't.
DeNiro
One thing I don't like about Green is his refusal to shake up the lineup. This team has been struggling to score and has been pretty bad defensively, yet he keeps icing pretty much the same roster. Would it really hurt to give MacEwen a look? Seems like they need a spark, and aren't getting it from the regulars.
stonecoldstevebernier
2-0 Crunch after one thanks to those goals that came ten seconds apart. Shots are 13-5 for Syracuse and the totals reflect the run of play in that frame... the Comets really had no sustained pressure and no prime scoring chances to speak of. Despite resting most of their top regulars the Crunch have still iced a decent team that is outplaying the Comets left and right and Demko has been forced to make several difficult saves with the ice tilted in his direction. No penalties for either team in that period. St. John's leads Toronto 3-1 after two periods, so the Comets will have to cross their fingers and come out far stronger the rest of the way. A new player with tons of adrenaline on a new team is refreshing and gives an obvious bump in zip.Look at Burr and his new spark in Ottawa. Why coaches don't utilize this more like MacEwen pretty much earned a look at least?
stonecoldstevebernier
4-1 St. John's in the third now.
Beary Sweet
just tuning into this one.. shocked that we're down. Marlies aren't doing us any favours either with St John's up big on them. still anything can happen in that game. firstly though we need to take care of business and come back and win it
stonecoldstevebernier
3-0 Crunch. Ikonen with a sweet dangle around the outside of Billins before dishing it to Kurtz in front for the goal.

He had his guys that he would play over anyone else regardless of earning their ice time. Kind of annoys me. MacEwen brings size, speed, and a great shot. Pretty much everything the Comets need int heir lineup.

DeNiro
People still high on the idea of Green as head coach? I'm just not on board with it. He really hasn't done a whole lot at this level. One trip to the finals on the backs of Marsktrom and Baertschi isn't enough for me.
Beary Sweet
lines are getting juggled now a bit here by Green. now has Jake with Zalewski and Archie. that looks like a good line together but need to see more of them out there
