[Proposal] VAN - ANA

Recommended Posts

ANA: Hansen and a 3rd or 4th round pick to even up value

VAN: Silfverberg

Jannik Hansen for Jakob Silfverberg. Anaheim gets a similar producing player in his prime and, most importantly, save $1.25M on the cap which can go towards the RFA contracts of Rickard Rackell and Hampus Lindholm. Vancouver gets a younger player with size and potential. Currently, Silfverberg will likely produce at the same rate as Hansen, but has potential for more as he refines his game and enters his prime years. Plus, the mentorship of fellow countrymen the Sedins, Eriksson, and Edler could help Silfverberg elevate his game.

Daniel - Henrik - Eriksson

Rodin - Sutter - Silfverberg

Baertschi - Granlund - Virtanen

Gaunce - Horvat - Dorsett

Burrows

For expansion, the Canucks will protect the top 7 forwards, likely Daniel, Henrik, Eriksson, Sutter, Silfverberg, Baertschi, and Horvat. It is possible that we could lose Granlund or Gaunce with expansion.

Thoughts?

So you think Horvat will be on the 4th line? Also why does Anaheim want a older player than Silfverberg I get it saves salary but 1mil isn't much. Also Anaheim young forward core isn't very good.

Anaheim put defenseman Clayton Stoner on waivers, possibly hoping that a team would pick him up so they could save $950K in cap. $1.25M in cap, although not a lot, might be the difference they need to sign one of them (if not both).

If anything, we could add a younger forward prospect like an Etem, who was once a promising local prospect in their system.

As for Horvat, I just loosely used the lines from the Calgary-Vancouver preseason game.

Silfverberg is part of Aneheims youth they can make cap space with other trades. Stoner would save 3 million in cap also. Etem is 24 and doesn't look like will make the Canucks this year. You didn't loosely use the Canucks lineup from the Flames you did use it and only switched Burrows, Skille and Hansen. You don't need a Preseason lineup to figure the lines. All Canucks fan know the Granlund will be on the 4th line and Horvat on 3rd.

I don't think Granland will be on the 4th line. He has shown that with actual talent he has top 9 potential. I think he will be on the 3rd as a wing. with him and Gaunce maybe switching spots here and there. Which suck because I don't see Gaunce as A 4th line guy either, Gran and Gaunce really screwed things by having good camps, because neither really belong on the 4th based on camp. Gonna be an interesting next couple of days.

wow tough group this morning

Blomquist posts to primarily comment on an idea to trade for Silfverberg

and gets boldly reprimanded for posting a nucks line up in some incorrect order

even though he says he used the line up from a recent preseason game with minor modifications

i guess we are all sharpening our knives for the upcoming season

i hope the nucks management notes the impatience of this fan base ^_^

Alf votes thumbs up.  Any potential top six (young) forward for Hansen is an excellent trade.

and that is exactly why it will not happen. A pending decent UFA will not get you a young top 6 forward, forget it.

At the TDL, players (like Hansen) will return young prospects and (or) picks - with the potential to become top six.

Hansen has 2yrs remaining on a very good contract.  He would garnish +++ interest to a contender at the trade deadline.

Regardless, I would much prefer to see him traded at the deadline for a mid pick or good prospect.  That way, they can protect another forward (whomever is the best player after the top 6)  from the expansion draft.

Absolutely correct, and the key word is POTENTIAL. Silverberg is an actual top 6, not a potential top 6. Hansen at the deadline will return maybe close to Yakupov (Yakupov is younger and under team control for years to come but produces less right now), so like a thrid round pick and a prospect. And yes there is potential that one of those assets will turn into a top 6 four or five years down the line, absolutely.

I thought you said Silverberg was on the increase?  Would he crack our top six?
