smithers joe Posted August 3, 2018 Share Posted August 3, 2018 i haven't seen utinen playing yet but i didn't tune in until the second period. the question was about playing at jack hughes' age and ability level. it isn't about nhl careers. orr changed the way defensemen played the game. i can't believe that he didn't dominate his position before he got to the nhl. I think his good comparable for quinn Hughes is probably a Brian campbell type. he's also 5'10 and a prolific offensive , rushing up the ice offensive dman. although hughes seems to have mad dangling skills. The US draws from an incredibility large population pool. I have always wondered why we didn't see this sooner. Also, coaching methods have changed a lot as well and the methods get taught to coaches all over the world, Our world has gotten smaller and people are sharing what works.
