Monty
Good job by Chevy and the Jets on setting the tone a few years ago by signing Scheifele to such a manageable contract.

Boeser wasn't the first domino and this has more to do with Point who is worth 10+ million and signing for peanuts. No way you can pay Laine 10m when Point is under 7m. Yes and then Point signed for a bargain deal. The only GM handing out these terrible contracts to RFA's is Toronto.

First relevant, league wide trend setting bridge deal. Brock's deal broke the floodgates, and Benning set the meta. Nucker 67
Does anyone else have any concerns regarding Boeser's health? He's only played two years in the NHL, but he's been injured 3 times already (twice real bad). He started the 2018/19 season slow because he bulked up too much in the off season and took time to get up to speed. This year, he missed training camp and got injured again in a preseason game. Has Laine been injured yet? Nope. And he's also never scored less than 30 goals in a season. What if Boeser can't stay healthy?

rekker
Not a fan of the player. He's a flake playing in Winnipeg. That makes him a Frosted Flake.

189lb enforcers?
oh, wow This guy is gonna get Paaaaid on his next contract. Projecting he will be at his peak when it’s time to renegotiate, he’s gonna beat Marner money at that time if he figures it out, which I’m sure he can. These bridge deals will eventually prove the Marner deal was a decent signing, not a bad one at all.
Coconuts
It's a reasonable number and two years won't hurt the Jets if he takes a step back. He'll likely get more next go round but at least the Jets have bought themselves a couple years to figure out their salary structure again. WHL rocks
Would have been best to lock him up long term but very reasonable bridge deal.. 7.5 QO in 2 years, he'll be easily worth that.

Him and Shanny were holding firm at around 9.5 mill long term until Tanenbaum stepped in. Ownership wanted the situation over and told mgmt to up the offer.
