Is Kusnetsov the cocaine Addict!

Oilers win on OT he wont be hitting any lines tonight

Maybe in Vancouver tomorrow night after the Roxy

What a game by Oilers. Lots of scoring chances could have won this by 3 goals.

Caps played well. Not like they were sitting back but Oilers are showing they are a good team. Very good team

Arizona vs Islanders.  Less than 40 total shots.   Those coaches should be banned.  Totally boring hockey for the fans.  Neither team, when the other team had the puck, was willing to cross centre.  This type of “water polo” defensive philosophy cannot be part of hockey.  Both teams are s total joke.

When you don't have the talent and can't attract the talent, you make due with what you have. Coaches' job is to win. If they can produce wins, then that's all that matters. Perhaps the league needs to put teams in more attractive markets. At the end of the day though, if the Canucks for example had these systems and it got the team to the playoffs and was successful, fans would still pay.

6 goals scored though.

NYI was the one team that had higher dump in rates than the Canucks by mid-February last season. They play dump & chase to avoid costly turnovers in their own end. They only carry the puck in if there is no risk of being forced into a turnover.  NYI went from allowing the most goals under Weight to the only team allowing less than 200 goals last season.

Ever since Washington, Trotz has been questioning the strategy of getting shots on net so that might also be part of the low number of shots on NYI's side.  He talks of not wasting shots and wants his players to try and create a high quality scoring opportunity before taking the shot.  He admits they don't quite have enough skills to execute in NYI.

Panthers are really going to regret the Bobrovski contract. He's 31 and 7 seasons at 10 mill per year. He's been horrible so far and wasn't all that great last year except for the playoffs when he played well.

He was great because Ian Clark was his coach in CBJ.

Now Clark is with Canucks and there's big improvement showing in Marky and Demko's game.

In fairness to Bobrovsky, I went and saw the Panthers play here in Calgary last year (rocking my Luongo jersey, as it was my last chance to see him live), and was absolutely shocked at how bad Florida was defensively. Coach Q has his work cut out for him.

I'd give Bob at least another month to get used to his new team/system before writing him off. However, I will agree that even if he gets it together, the last 2-3 years of that contract will still look downright scary.

Islanders really struggled against less talented teams that are not possession teams. Throws their system out the window if they have to dictate play.
