I think we should move the military in on them. Just like what was done in Quebec in 1970

I agree. Quebec ended up with 8 dollar a day  daycare , cheap car insurance  and some great summer music festivals.

Bring on the military...   will they have sniper teams set up llike the RCMP do... ?

No, not at all. The Canadian Armed Forces are far more professional than they RCMP. They will just remove the people that are illegally protesting where they shouldn't be but they will do it with the utmost professionalism.

Armed forces > RCMP > local police >>>>>>>> yankee police

The only one I take real issue with is BC Ferries & hospitals.  There are people that have to travel for hospital / specialists appointments that sometimes take months to get.  Or in the case of the intersection protest by St. Paul's, there are life and death emergencies.

It's one thing to inconvenience people in order to make your point, it's another to put people at risk.

Seems like they would be hoping for a death.

If the government doesn't hand out the welfare cheques, this will dry up almost immediately. They've been at it for two weeks now. These losers evidently don't have jobs, or they're so fortunate and privileged to have employers who will allow them to take all of this time off at once to cause mayhem and obstruct people and politicians from getting around or doing their jobs.

On the flip side, like I've always said - if you're going to protest - make yourself known. Shut down cities. Shut down governments. Don't capitulate until you get what you want. None of this pointless protesting in a park or somewhere that has zero impact.

Thank you. While I don’t take a stake in this issue, you’ve perfectly expressed the frustration that the heartland of B.C., feels.

I worked in northern BC a time or two.  I've travelled our province a fair amount.

Logging is dead in BC.  That has little to do with either government. NE and central north BC has always been a resource area period.  It's always been baffling that those in Vancouver/Victoria have the loudest say but the lowest clue as to what life outside of their areas entails.  it's shameful that the current BC Libs had 16 years and their biggest accomplishment was movement on Site C, yet claim that the BC NDP are dragging their feet and are now part of the issue.  it's shameful that the BC NDP are effectively telling the central and northern regions of the province that they won't step in and help.

For those living in the cities to start speaking of their displeasure over these current protests simply because they're inconvenienced is just a slap in the face to the families out there who rely on these jobs.  But every other day of the week they want to stand tall and tough and claim that our province should be off limits until they're inconvenienced as such.

There's no right or wrong answer but ffs I wish those city dwellers would actually nut up or shut up about things outside of their jurisdiction

I have no problem with people protesting. It is a constitutional right.

However I believe the right to protest has to respect my freedom of movement.

Take your protest off the damn street, fill the lawn at the courthouse or art gallery but stay off the damn roads. Somebody is going to die, or lose a limb because of these road blocks.

Then a relative of the person that died will get a van and drive over multiple protesters. This is leading to a dark place.

I'm not a fan of the disruption for CN either.

Using blockades will only inconvenience people and turn them against your cause.   So why do it all except to generate controversy and publicity.

Taking away your ability to get from a to b as fast as possible is not the same as taking away your freedom of movement.

no but blocking essential services is, as is blocking you from entering your workplace.

It’s amazing how if you even read the next 5 or so comments after yours, everyone is claiming to be for the people... until their personal way of life is inconvenienced for a few days here or there. Yet they have no problem making decisions for others that are life-changing.

That’s the problem with the world today, is people are expected to ruin their lives so that it doesn’t inconvenience someone else 1000km away. And no one will help somebody with an issue they can’t relate too instead they clash with the other party. Classic divide and conquer and the reason why governments have more control now than they’ve ever had.

I think most people on here have full support for the 20 bands that want the project, and not the so-called protestors.

It's effectively an inner provincial microcosm of the west vs Ottawa issue right now honestly.

I'm all for the protests.  Honestly, ramp it up even.  Stand out side of the homes of politicians and CEO's do what ya gotta.  But ffs stop screwing over EVERYONE to do it and whining about it the moment the roads are clear and you're free to care again
