Boy, every time I look at a new list it is different

I would imagine with MacKenzie, it is a mix of I think it is 10 NHL scouts or something like that, so it is a pretty good indication of todays rankings, but man they are pretty mixed up in general. Another thing I have read, is that although not as high of a ceiling, there is a sense that it is a deeper draft at the top, with near 20 players in the mix.

I drool about them all............

Here is 2 of the newer rankings I have found.................

https://hockeyprospect.com/hockeyprospect-com-2021-nhl-draft-top-32-ranking-april/

https://draftprospectshockey.com/draftpro-spring-2021-nhl-draft-rankings/

Owen Power the unanimous No. 1 in TSN’s mid-season draft rankings - TSN.ca

The Hockey prospect list is very interesting Sabastian Cossa leap frogging Wallstedt into 7th place, Brandt Clarke at 12 oh yess please Luke Hughes at 9 sploosh.  From 15th onward things get really interesting. I don't think I agree with much of this list however it does provide quite a few names I hadn't researched at all that may be very intriguing in later rounds.

Also I really hope Power goes 1st over all.

With our top picks being traded in the JT Miller and Toffoli deals we didn’t have a lot to get excited about last draft. Having our picks and looking like we’ll be in the mix for a top 10 pick it’s definitely a more exciting draft for us fans to look into! I remember a couple years ago posting a ton of Pettersson videos and when we actually took him I was so happy!

Same thing happened to me in 2018 with Hughes. He became my favourite prospect in that draft by January of that year and I would have taken him much earlier than where we picked. I was absolutely ecstatic to get him and I've never been more excited to follow a player's progression, especially as he in his draft +1 and rookie years. He's my favourite player on the team and likely will be for a long time ::D

I am not a big supporter of HF Boards, but one section I love is the Draft/Prospects section. There seems to be alot of guys who love to do the research on the prospects there.

Some really good takes from guys who actually watch video of the players or even get to watch some in person. They are not all professionals but I enjoy there takes on these players.

Hughes is actually the guy that made me start paying attention to the prospects, as I really did not know him, before we picked him. Then everyone went crazy, and I though I had better get myself better informed.

These mid-season rankings are still a little loose though...................I think the U18's will be a real eye opener this year............it could really change things alot

Another thing that has been sorta of skimmed over a little is some smaller U18 tournies/Games....sorta all-star type............not alot of info on them, so I am not sure if they will actually happen, but I am sure all the NHL teams will want as much info as possible

McKenzie said that Clarke has the potential to displace Power as the top defenseman in the draft. A big factor will likely be the U18s as we will get to see him relative to his age group rather than on his own in Slovakia. It seems reasonable to say that the U18s will have a bigger role in forming scouts' opinions on players than normal.

I think I gotta go Brandt Clarke number 1 for our Nucks...

Almost miscast as a smallish pure OFD, but now at 6'2 185 and a great attention to detail in his defensive game, he's poised to be much more than just a PP specialist.

Really not that different than a draft-year Boqvist, Liljigren, Dobson, etc. as a right-shot modern defenseman with high offensive ability, but closer to a Victor Soderstrom, or potentially even a Cale Makar (if all goes extremely well).

I've heard people talk about him as a potential 1st overall pick, but I get the feeling he'll still be available when the Nucks pick.

Otherwise, shoot for sublime skill in Kent Johnson. As others have mentioned, I see some Zegras in his game.

We've got our dog-on-a-bone (Podz) and our rat-in-a-cage (Hogz), time to stock up on that upper echelon skill game.

I am betting McKenzie is closer

aka 10 NHL scouts

probably, but man there's some big variances in these lists. Even just looking at games played, some kids are still in single digits.

I'm team Wallstedt (arguably my favourite goalie prospect of the last 10 years), but Cossa is making a huge case for himself.

A 6'6.5 212lbs Canadian monster that simply does not allow goals in his current level. That is absolutely a top 15 pick.

And the further past like 20, the bigger the swings. Is player X a late first or an early third... Who the &^@# knows?!

There's going to be some huge steals this draft!

boom and bust time for sure for many teams. And we won't know for a few years.

I hope we mine the SHL tho, I'd like to be able to have our kids play in mens leagues vs. that weird space between CHL and the AHL. I really wish they would lower the AHL age limit by a year.

#7 though I thought was intriguing thats the beauty of the draft though.

The 2 RHD at 15 and 16 OA pulled out of relative 3rd round obscurity. Logan Mallioux and Alexi Heimosalmi ranked only just shy of Brandt Clarke at 12. This draft is anyone's best guess so it's interesting to see such diversity of opinions.

These U18s are going to be fun, I wonder if they're gonna be broadcasted anywhere.

For Canada, Bedard + Wright is worth the price of admission alone, but I'd love to see how Brandt Clarke and other draft eligible players look with high-end skilled players.

me too. Nice to meet another one on here :P

if we're out of the top 5 and he's somehow not picked I'd really like to see him drafted. I think Seattle takes him if they drop out of the top 3 tho.
