That highlighted part makes me laugh.  Something tells me you weren't actually around during those years.  This is coming from someone who endured the Bill Laforge weeks (and the many, equally bad years before and after that).  I can tell you from personal experience, the current Canucks team is nowhere near as dismal as most of the teams during those decades.  If we had had a team with a Pettersson, a Hughes, a Demko, a Boeser, a Horvat, a Miller,  all at the same time,  we would have thought we'd died and gone to heaven (or somewhere similarly nice)!

Hey, we had 2 Greg Adams at the same time!

That $5000.00 is a typical Net months salary (after tax) for a good professional job and 2-3 months of Net earnings for typical lower wage job.  Question becomes, who wants to work 2-3 months of hard work just to see the Canucks - let alone in their present state of disarray????    Not many I suspect.

RU Serious?

Spoke with memberships yesterday, the renewals were very high considering payments did not have to be made.  She said internally they feel the demand they are seeing is the US for sporting events they expect to allow fans at full capacity when season starts.

Frankly I don't believe them( membership .) there are if I assess the situation correct, many who have credits from last season ( remaning from lost games ) who likely haven't made up their minds. I too spoke to membership and they gave me the same story, couldn't be better, this doesn't match with the general opinion floating around the city, mostly negative

Not to mention Canucks fired like... a huge amount of their staff.

We are excited to be moving forward with mobile ticketing. It will provide a more sustainable, safe and contactless environment for our Members and fans upon entry. Mobile ticketing will also reduce the risk of lost, stolen, or counterfeit tickets while providing Members with the ability to easily, manage or transfer tickets at any time.

Lots of new stuff in the portal.

I dislike the mobile ticketing. I like hard copy tickets.. Not a huge fan of that change..

I do however like the double gift card I'm getting.

Put's my wife and I in a bit of a bind, we don't have Cel phones period. So I understand they will provide hard copies of tickets if pressed

Season ticket holders will hopefully get swipe cards too.

I wonder if crowds are capped at 50% do Full season get first Dibs ?

100%, Full seasons first, then half seasons, then ice packs. I'm sure they will release 10% to GP that arshole scalpers will grab and re-sell.

Was told when called they are aiming at full capacity of the arena.  Renewal were good because no risk for existing season ticket holders delaying payments or credits.

she said based on how US arenas come this fall everything points to the way it was.  I guess we ll see. I’m excited to get back to normal, hopefully bee get good news next week and be one step closer.  Pretty soon masks will be by choice.

I made the decision to renew, after years of supporting the team I don't want to lose my priority with season tickets and am excited for something to do this fall.

It’s something I don’t wanna give up either , especially when they make a deep playoff run we don’t have to pay over price resell prices to attend games

I’m still going to wear mask to games for a bit, just to be safe

I'm expecting limited attendance - likely 50% to start but lookout, as we are very possibly going to be hit with a fourth wave this fall with the Indian (delta) variant hammering many countries in the southern hemishphere and spreading like wildfire in many countries.  So don't throw your mask away yet as I suspect this battle with Covid is far from over and we may see more lockdowns this fall/winter.

Less attendance just means less money I owe to the team

Let's just say that when I went through the renewal process, I was less than excited about this......

I share my account with two friends for three seats. We traditionally have a party before the season where all the tickets are there, and we do a draft for the tickets. It ends up working such that all of us go with each other numerous times. And of course, you can draft two tickets to yourself from time to time, so you can bring a different friend or coworker or family member to the game. Once of us has the tickets, it's our responsibility what we do with them. But it ends up resulting in literally a dozen different people (or more!) and I am no scalper, we very rarely sell tickets (except the leafs of course, and I do that through the canucks website).

What was once very easy is now going to be a GIANT PAIN IN THE ASS!!!!!! I am paying premium prices, is it to much to ask for premium service? If my new canucks rep once to be my email secretary for assigning tickets (they can come to the party and get free dinner and drinks out of it to make it easy) then sure, but that's not happening. Instead I get to be a data entry bot. Oh boy, can't have enough of that!

Having the option to send tickets electronically is great (it happens when me and my friends want a last minute change and don't want to physically change the tickets) but I promise you that is the exception and not the rule.

By all means be excited Canucks, but when it comes to this giant middle finger to the season ticket holders (this is not new, it's been there for years), I know for a fact it's about saving a few bucks. This is what the release should say...

"We are excited to no longer be forced to deal with and pay for paper tickets. Paper tickets give annonminity to the season ticket holders and their guests. This limits our ability to market and cross market to all people in attendance. Not spending money on ticket printed definitely is more sustainable to our bottom line, and though, despite having some of the highest ticket prices in the league, we could always use a few more dollars. Mr. Aquilini insists. By making it mandatory, we might get a few squeaky wheels that dissent. But we don't want those anyways. Our target demographic is, has been, and always will be, the corporate client, obedient to accounting departments that always pay on time with no questions asked. Everyone on both sides knows who's going to the games, and that way we can keep an eye on them, just the way we want. So hell ya, let's ditch paper tickets, and make the electronic ones mandatory."

A rebuilding team is one thing. But to give me the middle finger, after literally paying you what now will be approaching six figures of dollars? I guess I am small potatoes now.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
