They will move cause there is a willing buyer and arena ready in Quebec City. That is Bettman's last choice but still a choice better than staying in a quagmire in ASU.

Only way they stay is if a new owner asked to wait a year for renovations to get their arena nhl ready.

They are not going to move to Quebec just because they have an open arena. If they were okay waiting multiple years in Mullett Arena already, they’re not going to pack up and leave to a market they are not sold on just because they were aware might fail failed. They clearly had contingencies in place.

The owners were only OK with it cause they were promised the tempe arena which has failed.

It is one thing to stay in ASU knowing you will have a permanent hime in 3 or 4 years and completely another staying an extra 3 or 4 years woth huge revenue loses just cause the nhl didn't get the perfect deal.

This is business, you don't sacrifice hundred of millions of dollar just for hope.

They will go to Qubec of all other options fall through cause despite not being a large American TV market, it is still a Canadian market with pretty much guaranteed stability. We ain't talking about Saskatoon here.

I believe it took the transition between Atlanta and Winnipeg about less than 4 weeks. Good chance these are Arizona’s final days.

If they move to Quebec, I can totally see Detroit moving back to the West and play in the central division.

Who said anything about staying 3 or 4 more years? Stop responding to a strawman.

This is good news for Vancouver.  The new owners in Houston will want to build up their team quickly, so might want to take some of our core players like Garland, Myers, Beauvillier and maybe even OEL.  OEL could be the new face of the franchise really...   ::D

You said they have 3 or 4 year deal in ASU so no rush.

Forget about 3 or 4 years. Just losing revenue difference between Quebec and ASU and pr for a year with no guarantees of moving to say Houston is a very dumb business move.

I’m saying they’re not being booted out of the arena like the Thrashers so they don’t need to rush into a less than ideal market.

They will move to Houston and to the 17,800 seat Toyota Center.  They will move this summer and start playing in Houston next season.  The Houston Coyotes.  Book it...

Only question there is if the Rocket's owner even want the team or have anything to do with it.

Coyotes in theory could play where the Suns play but their owner want no part in the nhl.

And I'm saying the other owners and players won't sit pad for pixie dust when there is a viable market ready and willing to go.
