Well, it's not a great situation for the Flames as most of the prospects went back to the AHL for development, and many other's didn't make the playoffs or are even in the NHL right now.  With that said, we will still harness the power of Jagr and compete like we know we can.  Here is the middling playoff roster for the Flames:

Brayden Schenn -  Connor McDavid - Jesse Puljujarvi

Jesperi Kotkaniemi - Sean Monahan - Elias Lindholm

Jordy Bellerive - Ryan Johanson - Corey Perry

Alex Nylander - Marian Studenic - Maxim Sushko\

Luka Burzan

Hampus Lindhom - Thomas Harley

Sebastian Aho - Filip Berglund

Darren Raddysh - Linus Hogberg

Tristan Jerry

Connor Ingram

Black Aces: Veini Vehvilainen, Taylor Gauthier

San Jose Sharks playoff roster

Pierre Engvall - Sasha Barkov - Ryan Hartman

Johan Larsson - Nicklas Backstrom - Curtis Lazar

Kyle Turris

Otto Somppi

Devon Toews - Dante Fabbro

Alex Goligoski - Sean Durzi

Kurtis MacDermid

Mike Smith

Hunter Shepard

Should be a pretty close first round matchup with Calgary actually. We have the defensive depth but they have a couple more big guns up front.

So far, the 5 playoff rosters posted have been inputted on Pickup.

Username: CDCFL2022Playoffs

Password: cdcfl

If a player does not exist in the pickup database, they have not been added to your roster. If it gets to the point where they play and collect points in the playoffs, they will be retroactively added :)

Vancouver Canucks Quick Hits

Aatu Raty put up 40 points in 41 games in the Liiga, and 20 points in 11 games playing for Finland against his own age group internationally, this year.

He will still be 19 until November, six weeks after next season starts. Clearly he is having a good bounce back from his fall down the draft order. Happy to say Aatu is here to stay: not for sale. He looks to be outstripping his NHL entry draft position at 52nd overall in 2021, and for that we are thankful.

Topi Niemela put up 32 points in 48 games in the Liiga from the blueline and added 7 goals in 9 international games for Finland U20 team this year, he looks to be outstripping his draft position in the NHL entry draft where he was selected 64th overall in 2020.

Adam Beckman dipped his toes in the NHL for three games this year, while we had him on an ELC Slide. He went on to garner 34 points in 68 games in his first PRO season in the AHL. Noteworthy to mention his final full WHL year this wesley snipes put up 107 points in 63 games for the Spokane Chiefs. Last year he had nine games for the AHL before going back to the Dub where he put up 17 GOALS in 21 games. wow. Drafted in the NHL's entry draft at 75th overall, Adam will be an ideal low cost call up for the next three years or until he earns a full time job with our Vancouver youth movement club.

Markus Kallionkieli has 3 points in 2 WHL playoff games, at this moment in time...fresh this week, and that caps his WHL season of 27 points in 36 games played. Markus was drafted 139th overall in the fifth round 2019 NHL entry draft and is "improving by the minute" according to scouts. Markus has the speed, skill and defensive accumen to really be a foundational piece of my THird line for years to come. This coming season he may get spot time on callups, and I am looking forward to seeing what he brings to the CDC FL.

Ville Ottavainen, at 6 foot 4 inches and 201 pounds, at just 19 years of age, Ville put up decent enough numbers to keep him in the mens pro Liiga in finland and gain valuable experience defending against men, while also putting up 14 points in 44 games. His one U20 game in Finland he scored easily and beat the hell out of someone who took liberties against his teammate for 12 penalty minutes, just one assist short of the GOrdie Howe hat triick. We should see Ville play at the WJC do-over tournament this summer. Drafted 99th in the 2021 NHL draft, Ville seems like a decent enough third pairing Dman right now, with potential to grow into a 20 minute muncher in the NHL who can punish opposing attackers.

Matthew Robertson by comparisson to the above had a fairly pedestrian first pro season, one goal, 10 assists with the Hartford WOlfpack, and 36 penalty minutes. The vast majority of prospects go through this adjustment, and we will be providing all the tools at our disposal to help him achieve that huge potential that only last offseason was projecting him a top four Dman. Also at 6'4" there is a massive amount of upside to his game that will be realized long before we will need to make decisions on his contract renewal. Matthew was drafted 49th in the NHL 2019 entry draft. Interestingly the rangers opted to have him on the taxi squad back in January 2021..and that time with the big club at practice will pay huge dividends when his intelectual maturity catches up to his body size.

Samu Tuomaala, the diminutive forward, drafted 46th overall in the 2021 NHL entry draft, has taken his first big season playing against men, and while his numbers were nothing to write home about, the skill increase was evident when he played for Finland internationally against his own age group, the right winger who just turned 19 a couple months ago put up 2 goals and 2 assists in just 7 games. There is a lot of runway for Samu to reach his incredible potential as a shooter, but his bread and butter is that he is one of the fastest on the ice, every single game. He just beats guys around him to position and posession and is never shy taking shots on net.

Aku Raty, 151st overall in the NHL 2019 entry draft, is a player we don't actually expect to want to come to North America, based on scouting interviews from an acquaintance back in finland, but never say never with such a stellar brother riping up the hockey world, Aku is no slouch. The 6 foot right winger did make some forward progress in his second Liiga season with 11 goals, and 11 assists in 56 games. More importantly, at this time he has 2 points in 7 playoff games. Aku could see himself on a third line for a durable career. Aku was a point per game player each of the final two seasons playing against his own age group. and last year had 3 points in 78 WJC games. We hope to see him in North America, and we think he will thrive here, even if not quite at the same level as his more famous younger brother, Aatu.

So, what do all these 8 guys have in common? Not a single one of them is yet 22 years old and most are teenagers still. We have all of them signed or about to be signed to ELC's and have them at under a million each on our clubs caphit, if they can make the roster, for the next three years, minimum, and then we have them all as RFA's basically until seven years from now.

It is going to be a fun fun run the coming seasons and Vancouver is glad to have pretty much completed our rebuild on time and on budget while still competing somewhat on most nights, this last half of the season, after a dismal start. Turning our attention to fixing the goaltending will be the final bit of work that needs to be done before we are once again a contender, but we will be back in the post season sooner rather than later. Take this offseason and run with it Western Division. It might be your last shot at glory. (shots fired) haha

4 hours ago, D-Money said:

Carolina places Radko Gudas on I/R (Link). Convert Nic Deslauriers to defenseman, and recall Kevin Rooney.

Also send down Trevor Lewis, replacement TBD.

@Nail

Rooney cannot be recalled until Sunday unless he is directly replacing the spot of an injured F.

Vancouver Canucks Three Stars of the final month of the season!!

As we begin to wind down our season it is once again time to salute our Three Stars for the month of April in Vancouver!

Jason Robertson: 87 points this month, including nine goals and 8 assists. FIRST STAR

Phil Kessel: 64 points this month from one goal, nine assists and 14 penalty minutes, SECOND STAR

John Klingberg: from the blueline, John managed 54 points this month on the strength of two goals, seven assists and just 4 penalty minutes.

Honourable mention to Anze Kopitar, sliding in at 53 points, Braydon McNabb with 43 points, and my Goaltending Tandem of Martin Jones and David Rittich who combined for 67 points this month, which beats our total goalie points for the entire rest of the season up until April.
