Benning did great adding Lammikko. Highmore was my favourite player tonight.

Highmore's speed was really noticeable. We need that in our bottom 6.

They got dragged for that trade but it looks Highmore can fill a clear role, rather than a tweener like Gaudette was. (Even if Highmore has less offensive talent)

The first NHL game excuse is weak. Just an excuse by the coaches to limit another young player at the expense of plugs.

I don't think it was a big deal...  we couldn't have Podkolzin's line out there against McDavid and since we were playing in Edmonton, they had the last change.

I thought Podz was pretty good in his limited time, won a few puck battles and did his patented cross ice pass to the point for a shot on net.

He did make one mistake that led to the too many men penalty.  He didn't get the puck deep enough and the Oilers shot it towards our bench on the change.  At least I think that was Podz but don't quote me on it.

I'd like to see Podz with Lammikko and a better winger.  Maybe when Motte comes back those three could make a pretty potent line.

Then again if Boeser and Motte are both back, we could be looking at Motte - Dickinson - Highmore, which would leave Hoglander and Podz flanking Lammikko.  That would be a solid solid 4th line!

Not good enough anymore.  Top paid forward on the team.  Laid down the gauntlet and said he only wants to play on a winner.

Ok Petey lead the way.  Play like the top players in the league.  No nights off. No try is good enough.  Results count.

I think Pettersson was dangerous all night, not sure what you are talking about? Oh yeah the 2 best players in the league didnt score either genius.

Looks like nurse play nearly 33 mins!!!! Coil are going to burn him out sooo damn fast lmao.

But media is going to keep pushing the " Oil added great depth to the blueline agenda " lmao

Not sure why people would be dragging on Chiasson, the guy put himself into position to get multiple high grade scoring chances.

Agreed!! Ppl don't seem to have realistic expectations out of a guy who won a contract from a PTO and made himself noticeable... he put himself into scoring chances more so in one game than our famous Jake V in 10 games!!

I believe Chiasson will start popping in goals on PP against weaker defense & goalies!!

I would take Chiasson off the #1 PP and put Garland of the left side. Or drop Chiasson and even have 2 D with OEL and Hughes.

Put Miller or Horvat in front of the net. They're big boys.

Well I rather just put Boeser on that 1st PP unit.

McTavish played 14 mins on a weak team

Lapierre played 10 mins while scoring a goal

Couple examples tonight. No really out of the ordinary. 7 mins is low but nothing to worry about and not uncommon I’ll consider these words a few games in

I’d love to see them put both OEL and Hughes on PP1.   I think defenders will back off a bit from OEL coz his shot isn’t a muffin.

The dilemma is who to put on PP2 point.  I guess they could be like the coilers and leave the first unit out as long as possible.

Everyone gets pissed 3m and under guys dont put up 60 points and look like mcdavid everynight. They are making low money for a reason. Solid but nothing special is what you need to expect. especially league min guys haha

And I recall most ppl were so upset we gave away Gaud for nothing... now we'll soon get to see how Highmore can fit in nicely...

Gaud didn't even get to play tonight and I won't be surprised if he ends up in AHL this season!!
