"He's fortunate" You can't have it both ways I haven’t said losing was all on Green ever. If you’re inferring that, then that’s your mistake. The team winning doesn’t appear to have been a result other than having Hughes back in the lineup and Demko standing on his head, again. How Green was ‘coaching’ that, towards a win is a reach of logic. 2 4

Popular Post Locke Lamora
One last thing…EP is still so obviously rusty. It’s encouraging we can knock out some more workmanlike (ugly?) wins while he gets up to speed. He will get there. Spoil the Krakens big night on Saturday night and this road trip was a solid way to start the year. 5 2
Popular Post wallstreetamigo
There were some good things to take from the game. Demko was really good. The PK was at least serviceable and at points looked good. Hughes seems to be way more committed to using his strengths in his defensive game. Rathbone and Burroughs were both pretty solid. OEL and Poolman were calming my nerves. Our D looked ok but our passive D style in our end is still garbage. 3 1

And what did Green specifically do that earns him credit for the win? The Canucks still played his boring ineffective style most of the game. They just managed to beat a team playing a similar style thanks to their goalie being better. With you and a few others it does not matter how the team performs, Green is never going to get credit. It is a broken record with most your posts. Edited October 22, 2021 by vancan2233

And then in our own zone, and especially on the PK, we stand still.
Elias Pettersson
Well we beat the 2nd worst team in the league. It's a start. Demko was great and even Petey had his moments. Let's see what happens in Seattle.

They'll probably lose a couple more before the end of the month but there are too many good hockey players in this group for them to not start to look like one of the better teams by the end of the year. My prediction is .500 over the next 10 more games or so and then we start to find our footing. We'll take this one tho. Always nice to get a W against the hawks. This will only happen if they lose their “good enough” mentality from night to night. How they come out against Seattle will tell an interesting story. Popular Post Eddie
Great - hard fought win that was well needed when were still not playing our best - those are badly needed on this first long road trip of the season. Hughes and Demko came to PLAY this year !! Top line still not clicking, but we know they can when they get it together - hope they can see some long play time together at home and really work on it, as once their singing were gonna be dangerous ! Love having OEL back there - the guy is smoooooth as butter, great signing and I do think he will age well as he is such a smart player that doesn't rely on explosive pace. Would much rather have him than Jones - man did he not look interested at all today. Brutal signing so far for CHI. In fact all Bennings summer signings had another great game - anyone bashing the Poolman contract needs to take a long hard look at a plate of crow - The guys a warrior for that money !! 4

I guess putting Hughes back in and starting Demko were his decisions so I guess there’s that. 1

No nhl player purposely plays defense that way against the coaches orders let alone 5 of them at the same time. 1

Seriously, Poolman right now is better than Seth Jones. And at 7 million per season less! Hawks give up a lot to get Jones, and then signed him to an anchor contract. Love it!
