To New York Islanders : Elias Pettersson / Travis Green

To Vancouver Canucks: Matthew Barzal/Barry Trotz

Good chance Green actually ends up there as an assistant or in some capacity considering his past

Trotz is a non-starter, the current roster and previous success they've had is built around his coaching philosophy.

I could see Petey for Barzal.

I threw in Green for Trotz as filler but maybe Petey for barzal could be arranged

You guys should include Montreal as the Canucks, Habs, and Isles are probably the 3 most underachieving teams. I heard Toffoli and Gallagher may be available.

Gallagher would be awesome if it wasn’t for that contract…

Pettersson

Boeser

Rathbone

1st 2023

for

Barzal

Dobson

Wahlstrom

2nd 2022

Isles are capped out too, and they've already got six forwards making 5M+

They've just been hit by Covid and injuries so they're not all available

They're a better team than their record indicates too, and moving out cost controlled RFA's in Wahlstrom and Dobson wouldn't help their cap scenario going forward

We already have enough smallish forwards. No thanks.

If we could transplant his heart and effort to some of our players, I'd be all for it. Guy is a warrior.

Maybe there could be something around Pettersson and Barzal, but I don't see either team being prepared to do it

Particularly NYI, as Barzal's proven more than Pettersson thus far and with all the injuries and Covid their top six is looking pretty thin

Which would inevitably impact his performance

I hear ya about smaller forwards but I think in this case Gallagher is a guy who’s heart and play makes up for his stature.

Our primary problem as a team is not

size. It’s heart/compete. The reason any of us as fans have hope right now is because of the passion and drive in guys like Podz, Hogz, and TJ.
Gallagher is totally a warrior.

Like I said though, that contract is heavy and he’s already 29 so wouldn’t be as interested in him.

Petey and Barzal does sound interesting.  Barzal is a RHC and is also from around here.  Both players are struggling mightily this season for god knows what reason.
