I very much hate to say it, but the Leafs are looking pretty good. They seem to win all the key faceoffs - obviously, Manny Malthotra's influence. Marner and Matthews are looking a lot more even-keeled out there than prior years. Their bottom 6 plays their roles very well. Even my friends who are Leafs fans are not too cocky - they are not talking about planning the parade but just getting out of the first round.

If the Lightning somehow beat the Leafs, then I'm going Lightning all the way.

The Leafs look good every year in the first round. Until they have a chance to win, and they choke hard, every time.

OK, let's look at things objectively, Canucks fans.  Hear ye, hear ye.

The Oilers are playing the best hockey they've played in 32 years.  They look on par with Colorado and Florida.  The Flames haven't done anything yet to suggest they won't get out of the first round.

So, our arch rivals, the Flames and Oilers, are playing the best hockey they've played in decades and look unstoppable.  Wouldn't you rather Toronto be the Canadian team to win it all rather than the Flamers or Soilers?

Edmonton is playing at other worldly levels right now (Remember how they dismantled Colorado in that last home game).  I'd much rather see the Leafs in the SCF than those 2 scumbag teams.  And, honestly, the Leafs look OK right now but the Oilers are playing like soon-to-be Stanley Cup champs, which is terrifying.

So, Go Leafs Go!

Edmonton has multiple AHLers on their blueline; they don't have a chance in holy hell of going deep.  Neither does Calgary, who uses a first line without any men on it.  Both teams have multiple locker room cancers in key roles.  Give it time, both those teams will get exposed as the frauds that they are.

You have a better chance of winning if you have better than average bottom six who can score a bit.  They can be heros.

Leafs may fail at the end of the year.  But, they have the money and staff to support the team....Manny, Gilman.

They are able to recruit the Ontario born veteran players like Spezza, Simmons, Clifford and PJ JT.

They can find support players like Bunting who had 63 points this year. Justin Holl and David Kampt are good pickups.

They get better every year.  But, we still don't want them to win.:bigblush:

Boom. 2-0 Lightning.

We had this huge lightning in NYC the other day at 6am, woke the entire city up. Due to weather inversion the sound was like a bomb.  My car alarm went off.

Only possible downside if this becomes a total collapse is that Shanahan might get on the the phone with BB.

On the bright side Halak might have a new home.

The real downside is they might get rid of Dubas, and hire an experienced GM.
