Yes. Probably a better piece than Studnickas.

Edit- We need a 4th line Center with Lazar out. Myrenburg is a lower tier prospect.

This is a stretch at best

Myrenberg was probably our top RHD prospect. :picard:

If Jonathan Myrenberg is your top right handed D prospect then that is most definitely not a good thing.

Not even remotely… he is just 19.  That is a mens league, not many teenagers in it.

The season just started, a young guy getting big reps in a lower league rather than low minutes in a higher league is pretty normal for development.  He probably shuffles between the two leagues this season.

He was dominant in the J20 (Their major junior equivalent) last year against guys older than him.  If the draft happens again, he is easily a 3rd round pick with his trajectory.

Yes but the only way for the over reaction to be warranted is if he was playing decent minuet in the SHL.

That is the point. The vitriol does not fit the crime.

Benning never left.

Allvin could go down as the worst GM. It's a big leap of course since it's still so early in his tenure, but this trade is done for the sake of doing one, and it's not even good.

We are the only team that hasn't won a single game, and it's embarrassing considering how much money they spent re-signing Miller. We are also capped out.

The vitriol is based on what these sorts of trades and Allvin’s comments show their plans are… not the actual players involved.

They should be giving up zero prospects for short term fixes.  We have in short order given up a 2nd to get rid of a bottom six centre and then given up our best (though mediocre) prospect in the position the organization is weakest in just to get a worse bottom six centre who was almost certainly bound for the waiver wire.

Yup and Allvin is Dubas lite.  No wonder, Pittsburgh fired him after two weeks as GM for a more competent Hextall.  Atleast, Hextall would had kept his picks and prospects

I cannot believe anyone, would be as inept as JB - but Allvin is starting to look like, an even worst choice.

Can we finally say that this GM really doesn't know what he's doing?

Allvin almost has an AHL line up: Dermot, Stillman & Stud.  He just needs to add, two plugs on the wings for a premium pick or young roster player.  GM of a team, in NHL Purgatory

Farm Team trade so this won't help us right now. Again these trades are not helping the team as we speak.

Do you guys remember those good old days when Pat Quinn was making those awesome big trades that got us into the Stanley Cup Finals vs the Rangers!!!

Those are the bold trades we need to shake up this team right now!!

Sorry I just can't get worked up over an inconsequential prospect. If this is a fourth round pick or Klimovich than I am right with you.

Don't like this trade. It basically Studnika for Myrenberg as Dieptro was no longer in the Canucks plans.

This is a classic -- let's mortgage the future by getting rid of a good young prospect at a key position to bring in a fringe NHL'er so we can be a little bit less bad in the short run. . If the Canucks are healthy Studnika is, at best, 13th man.

I think Jim Benning is still GM, He is just wearing a Patrick Allvin mask.

I hope Allvin keeps doubling down, with Francescos' retool strategy.

You know EXACTLY what that means then.

Our 1st and 2nd this year, 1st next year would be available.  We have zero other assets outside of Lekkerimaki and Klimovich.  Otherwise it would/will be Pearson or Hoglander for Bear with a claim of needing cap space to replace the RHD we just traded....an rhd that can't win a roster spot over jalen chatfiel

You should fax, your post to Allvin cause his trades needs to be more lopsided...
