I agree,

Miller seems content to have a couple shifts a game where he goes in the corners and bumps around a bit but has otherwise become a perimeter player.

That's what signing retirement contract will do for ya. At least he's not pulling a Loui.

This is why I say rebuild. It doesn't have to be long and it doesn't need to be a complete tear down. It can just be of the goal to accumulate youth and clear cap over the next couple seasons(including this one). By 2024-25 you have gotten 2-3 new young core pieces via trade or more likely from drafting high,  have cap to look for the right veterans to surround your core and young players knocking on the door or able to be utilized as an asset in a trade.

Only look to climb from that point on. You might not be good right away but you'd be on the rise.

We already have a good core we can start with in Hughes/Petey/Demko.

The league is so tight and so tough you have to make intelligent and tough decisions at certain points. Like last year, the absolute perfect time, sitting right in front of our face, to take a step back, reset the focus, get rid of excess, gain capspace and assets, and re-configure for when the financial situation improved.

We blew it big time ... we're screwed for a long time now with the Miller, and Boeser contracts. $14 million completely wasted on garbage that no one in their right mind wants to touch. It hurts that we're so utterly stupid.

The Aquas are business people. It's how you spin it. You have a meeting. Show the past two games. Summarize it like this. The team is not making the playoffs with it's existing roster. You tell them you have some good pieces. But there's going to be a lot of movement. Going for a younger, faster, more competitive team. It will mean short term pain, but long term gain.

If the overall plan it to move expensive pieces and have a team with more cap space for flexibility. Tell them it will take time. But that's the best way to build a winner.

It is hard to imagine that this hasn't been explained to them by someone at some point during the last decade.

Yesterday is the best thing that could have happened to us.

The patient fans (including me) first said wait until the 20 game mark.

We were then so close to 500 and a couple points out of playoffs after a 3 game win streak beating the lowly coyotes, Habs and sharks. With 6 games until Christmas, I said wait until Christmas as these next 6 games against better teams will tell us who we are. If we go 4-2 maybe we have something here. If we go less than that, time to start trading.

4 games in, not only did we go 1-3, we lost those 3 games by a combined score of 13-2.

It should be clear to everyone including ownership and management that its time to sell.

Glad we have been given a clear direction now

Wait until we win the next 3 games in a roll. lol.

This is why decisiveness is so important. Realize that we are not there yet, and act on it.

Anaheim was near the top of the league the first 30 games last season I think, and they ended up being huge sellers at TDL. Now that's action.

Anyone with any hockey sense can and could see this team simply sucks. It was obvious last year and it was evident for years before that. Why not just look for the solution right in front of your face instead of looking for leprechauns.

I still there’s good bones in there, it’s just a bad mix of players and a coach who clearly doesn’t care and has little to no structure to his systems.

Firign BB should be the first move

Isn’t that what they’ve done?  Most teams who go with a youth movement, ent get to this point…….the point where a big b pivot has to be made to build around an emerging core.  Smart GM’s get their teams past this point, others sign MIller’s to retirement contracts.

Not sure what ownership has to do with it

When we beat teams that go through the flu it’s always been they had the flu they weren’t 100% etc.

IF there is numerous Canucks with the flu it is a valid reason this small string of games have been worse than abysmal.

This was a wildcard team at best with all the cards lining up perfectly so obviously illness especially mass illness would lead to the team playing like dog shit, even more so than normal.

Oh come on Man, are you serious!? one of these days these guys have to be accountable for their actions, this is nothing new and you definitely can't blame it on being sick. Many of players and coaches have lost their jobs because of these guys. No more excuses, just accountability please.

Just wait.

The next scare tactic is to compare any Horvat trade to the disaster the Neely trade was.

But there was a lesson there, the Canucks were trying to retool to get better so they traded for position.

Boston just traded for a really good young prospect and draft pick they didn't really need at the time, they traded for the future.

Now reverse that trade for Horvat.

So Skinner or Zuccarelo for Bo?

Let's get this party started!

I could care less about a “stat line”, in fact that’s the catch 22 with JT, he shows up on the stat sheet, but is invisible through most games.  Miller is persona non grata 5v5
