Biggest one is that this can’t be a “futures” move in isolation. Schenn needs to be sold, Brock and at least one more piece. They kicked Demko around a bit - but that’s prrrrobably too extreme for me at this point. Still, they need to buckle down and accept the playoffs next year are likely a pipe dream without Horvat - or at least without Horvat returning a C or D ready for the NHL. That helps the Beauvillier and Myers deals age out - hopefully sell at the deadline. If Demko bounces back they’ll probably be picking “mushy middle” but with a few trades it might be a quantity over quality retool. The off ice endorsements he would make here vs in those cities would be night and day. He would put in minimum service time then come here or at least be UFA to then go where he wants.
