Heard that after the game Bobrovsky followed his normal post game routine and rode the bike. Hi teammates must of thought that this guy is insane.

Why insane?
A hockey player has a lot of breaks during a games so it’s not partucularly exhausting… Look at all the commercial stops in NHL where everyone can relax and take it easy.

When a goalie is in the zone like Bobrovsky he'll twirl in a hundred circles and walk around all day in an alligator costume if he thinks that was part of the routine that got him on a roll.

The goalie is out there the whole time during the play He has to be alert at all times and is moving side to side and up and down. Try doing that for 7 20 minute intervals. Then follow it up with a bike ride. Comparable to a triathlon.
Big respect for Bob.

The bike ride is a perfect way to loosen the muscles.

I think for a goalie that mental wear aspect of having to be hyper alert for 7 periods is probably hardest part. Riding a bike where he can loosen his muscles and just zone out might actually be the smartest thing he could do.

lol, I'm reminded of the time Luongo took a LARGE dump in the toilet inbetween periods & failed to "finish his job" in time to get out on the ice in time during that Ducks playoff game for the beginning of overtime.  Limited bathroom breaks.
