Wilbur
Can't help but think this further sets the market for Garland. Doesn't look like the Canucks will be able to trade him without sweeteners.
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
Only $3.5M actual salary for Bailey in 2023-24 on the final year of his $5M AAV contract.

Ghostsof1915
I suppose the bright side of all this, I doubt Chicago will be scraping the bottom of the standings this year.
DrJockitch
The value of cap space when used for something other than UFAs.

What happened to the bad old days of giving picks for overpaid plugs with long term, just so you could get rid of them giving away more picks or buy them out? 1 1
Provost
As I said... Chicago is in an enviable position. Massive amounts of draft capital and cap space, virtually no long term cap commitments. They can take on solid players on short term deals and get assets for doing so. They can build a playoff calibre team this year from castoffs other teams can't afford. How sad will it be to see them ahead of us in the standings, spending millions less in cap, and having one of the top prospect pools in the league... and a metric crap ton of high draft picks coming up for years to come 1

Doesn’t look like there’s any value in wingers. The fact is we wouldn’t get the 2nd round pick we’d be getting much less or giving picks up ourself.
