We really need to trade a forward, especially with Pearson showing up for training camp. His cap is still low, and he only has a couple years left. Why not take low risk, potentially high upside chances? Also, what makes you say defensively suspect? He's been played mostly as a bottom 6 winger and actually been a very effective checker. He's 2 way play has come a very long way, he's just been unable to bring together his offense.
