You have the Russian guys who came to North America in junior specifically to play in the NHL. Like Nail Yakupov, Goldobin, etc. There's also quite a few Russians in the AHL as well. I am saddened by the fact that the Canucks lost someone with potential, and someone who brings much needed size to the organzation, but i get the feeling he would have left even if he got 20 minutes a night. Maybe it was too much for him to handle, maybe his wife hates the rain, maybe he thought he was in over his head. In the end we will never know.
