arby18_
The Sharks are pleased to see D Jake Gardiner return to the lineup tonight. We're going to need him ready to go for our playoff run, which unfortuantely will be missing a few key players after seeing the Flyers and Wild both get eliminated from playoff contention. Popular Post Primal Optimist
Things we know, and things we don't: Central: will win the West, the Central and the League title for the season...but who will they play in the first round? will play and Dallas will enjoy home ice, but is that an advantage in this league? Perhaps the "tie breaker" would go to home ice? I dunno. Pacific: will win the Pacific, yay, but again, just who will flesh out those wildcard spots is a mystery that will only be solved by playing the last couple games. will play but in this case home ice is anyone's guess...21.5 points is all that separates these two behemoths..and it looks like a knock down, drag out 7 game war for round 1 will be a fan favourite for sure! Wildcards: are all within 27.5 points of each other and it is anyone's game folks...wild card musical chairs for the next three days...and complicating matters is the fact that and are sort of technically not eliminated yet...LA is just under 100 points out of a wildcard and only slightly more than 100 out...both long long shots, but still worth mentioning today. Meanwhile out East: Things seem a bit more settled on the one hand and still so unsettled on the other. Atlantic: will most likely hold on to keep the 2nd eastern cede but is only 81 points up on detroil leads by just 25 points, so while these two will likely play in the first round as opponents...home ice is unknown and there is an outside shot one of them passes boston in the next three evenings....or is passed by Toronto or Buffalo Metropolitan: (*I like the chocolate ice cream, but the strawberry is also good and the Vanilla just feels cheap! lol) have certainly locked up first place out eastand will face one of toronto or buffalo has secured home ice over and they will battle to advance to the Metro Final in round 2! Wildcard: These two are secured their playoff appearances..but the Wild Card is WILD today...Frankly the Atlantic spread from 1st to 5th, all playoff bound, is just 163.5 points this morning....and yeah that is a bit too far to go to beat Boston...but 2nd to 5th place is just 82.5 points, and like sportsaction...anything can happen. If your team crest isn't in this post, CONGRATS, you may have a lotto shot at first overall pick!!! 1

Relyt Krets
Hey all, Thanks to @Primal Optimist posting the most recent standings. I had planned to keep everyone updated every couple days. Unfortunately some things have come up personally that have been tough to deal with, but I will try to get going on some things tomorrow, especially heading in to playoffs. I know some of you have sents PM's with signings as well. I should get around to some responses tomorrow as well and potentially some signings. I want to thank all who have helped out and contributed to our league in its inaugural year. We hope to build on some things and really amp up the activity next season. To playoffs we go! For all teams who have clinched, and I will tag you in a spoiler, you can start sending in playoffs rosters now if you are comfortable. Reminder that you can have 23 skaters 13-14F, 7-8D and 2G, and then beyond that you can call up and send down freely, so long that they were posted in the OP (Ie. Black Aces). I will send out a reminder about this on Sunday as well Again thanks all! 1 1

There is a lot of stuff us regular GM's can do to help out and as long as it doesn't cut the Executives grass, I am cool with pitching in like this, I do in other leagues and folks seem to like it. Glad to see some exec posts and activity: IMO this was a very good Inaugural year, and next year looks like it should be at least as successful, if not far more so. Grats to all the Exec on a job well done. Anyone seen Tigs lately? hahaha...not sure why my spider-pig sense is tingling....you don't think he got arrested do you? 3 hours ago, D-Money said: That is a very specific mission...27th place....lol...but I get what you mean and yeah You guys made it crystal clear a year ago you were tanking by the 4th round, maybe 2nd round? Art Vandelay
I’d say it’s almost guaranteed TOR and BOS faceoff in RL and in EKL. It’s going to be depth vs. Top talent. I’ll have 19 playoff players to BOS’s 9 players. But they will have 4 very good players in Backstrom, Seguin, Pacioretty and Tarasenko... compared to my top 4 of Murray, Dubois, Hamilton and Niederreiter.
D-Money
Despite how the season went, the Minnesota Wild are quite happy about how the team is positioned. Some young players have shown extremely well, and look ahead of schedule in their development (Heiskenen, Johnsson, Joseph, Capobianco). Others have taken big steps in their development leagues, and look to have solid futures in the NHL (Bouchard, Fabbro, Barre-Boulet, Groulx). We had a number of long-term injuries (Hanzal, Arvidsson, Hedman, Richardson, Capobianco) and long-term suspensions (Watson, Haley) this year, but considering we didn't intend on competing this season, that only helped us secure a higher draft position. Projecting to next year, we expect a better team, that may even challenge for a playoff spot. We have an extremely strong defense, and quite a bit of depth up front and in net. However, we would like to acquire some top-6 forward talent, particularly a 1st line C and are willing to consider moving/packaging anyone not in red to make it happen. We have a number of young D and G players/prospects that GMs may covet. We also really like drafting. So even if you don't want to trade players, if there is a player/prospect you like, and would be willing to part with a decent pick (or picks) to acquire, PM myself and @Monty with ideas. Projected 2019/20 Roster (as it currently stands): Andreas Johnsson - _________ (UFA?) - Viktor Arvidsson Austin Watson - Martin Hanzal (I/R?) - Brad Richardson Jimmy Vesey - Leo Komarov - Mathieu Joseph C.J. Smith - Jason Dickinson - Oscar Lindberg Valentin Zykov Victor Hedman - Aaron Ekblad Miro Heiskenen - Kyle Capobianco Calle Rosen - Phillipe Myers Nick Seeler, Tucker Poolman Philipp Grubauer Joonas Korpisalo Prospects LW - Albin Eriksson, Ross Colton, Adam Johnson, C - Shane Bowers, Jay O'Brien, Alex Barre-Boulet, Benoit-Olivier Groulx, Michael Eyssimont, Jake Wise, Nathan Smith, Otto Somppi, Drake Rymsha RW - Klim Kostin, Jake Evans, Bulat Shafigulin D - Evan Bouchard, Dante Fabbro, Louis Belpedio, Nicolas Meloche, Markus Phillips, Grant Hutton, Seth Barton, Alex Lintuniemi G - Ilya Samsonov, Anthony Stolarz, Evan Fitzpatrick, Joseph Woll Draft Picks 2019 - MIN 1st, MTL 1st, DET 1st, MIN 2nd, NJD 2nd, VAN 2nd, MIN 3rd, MIN 4th 2020 - MIN 1st, MIN 2nd, DET 2nd, MIN 3rd, MTL 3rd, MIN 4th, MIN 5th, SJS 5th Impending UFAs/RFAs that will not be qualified: Tom Pyatt, Eric Fehr, Mike Vecchione

Well, we generally had a full roster of NHL-ers - at least, guys who were projected to be NHL-ers at the beginning of the season. And we even had some call-ups, but with the injuries and suspensions we simply didn't have enough options. But probably the biggest reason we didn't get called out is because there weren't jerks like @D-Money and @Monty on other teams to call us out.

Primal Optimist
I think the inaugural year folks tend to want to turn a blind eye as we all were there at the draft hoping some other GM would pick nonimpact players for this season so we could all do better than them...it worked. haha....I expect next year tankers will be frowned upon and scorned!
